One I really liked was black and gold (from the Army) that matched
    my uniform. :)

That was a pen, not a thumbdrive...? As long as it worked... :)

    That was a pen.
The thumb drive sizes varied as well. Some as small as 124 MB to full
size 8 GB. I've collected nine or 10 of them over the years. The 8GB's
    retail for about $20.
I use them for temporary storage for a variety of things.
One I use for my old radio shows I listen to at work on the weekends. Listen, delete and reload.
    Most of them are idle.

My brother likes their coffees.... I don't think I would, even if I
COULD have coffee any more.... flavourings in coffee aren't my favorite thing, either...

I can only handle a couple of cups a day. By the third cup it starts
tasting like liquid rubber, no matter who makes it.

Maybe at some later date, but not at the attendants booth.
People would put them in their pocket, drop it somewhere in the
car, or just lose it along the way.
Then there were the ones trying to pull a fast one.

Did you have a large number of people trying to weasel out of a
    ticket??

    Quite often.
The guy in the box (as we called the booth) would always have stories
of people claiming they had lost their ticket, etc.
There are also signs all over reading "cash only" and they would claim
not to have any cash on them to get out of paying. (I'll go to the bank
and be right back). He would tell them the student centre across the
street had a variety of ATM's they could get cash (and he would wait on
    them. <g>)
But about 99 per cent of the people he had no problems with.

Thought as much... generally one doesn't care if a thumbdrive matches
    one's uniform... <G>

That's useful... and something else you don't have to go out to
    purchase... ;)

    Most of them are idle.

But you have them in case you might need one sometime.... :)

At least you can have some.... :)
