That's my preferable way as well, most of the time... ;) I don't mind having it on the ground as long as it isn't on the car or the roads... :)
Being semi-retired I don't have to go out in it everyday. :)

    Definitely an improvement... ;)

Making progress in your trip, I see....
In Norfolk the other day and a lot of changes from 50 years ago.
Places I knew are gone or redeveloped. Downtown is no longer seedy
dives, overpriced jewelry stores for "that certain girl back home"
with low, monthly payments that went on endlessly. :)
Now its all trendy restaurants, sidewalk cafes, 20 somethings
    staring at the phones...

    Possibly an improvement.... <G>

A rather dubious area in town then is now a big tourist attraction,
with the USS Wisconsin docked there.
While a Navy town I never saw one person in uniform, other than
guards at various gates to the base.

At least they were in uniform... ;) Was the USS Wisconsin open for
    tours, or just on view...?

Yesterday was Yorktown and Jamestown. Yorktown is open battle
fields and such but Jamestown one had to go through a visitors area to
get to anything which of course was still shut down.

Guess you'll have to make another trip later to get into Jamestown
    sites... :)

... I am tired of being part of a major historical event.
