I was thinking the other day about Your message about the missing
Notes files and wondered if You tried any Undelete programs to learn
if they could be found and make them "Readable" again.

Well first, I would need to find the deleted PC they were on. :)
I've gone through a couple of PC's since 2000. And at that time they
were permanently stored on a floppy, then burned to a CD. That CD failed.
Part of the problem was the burning program itself. I can't recall the
name but it say a file had been successfully burned only to find out later no it hadn't.
I use Nero now and that's the best one around.
I have CyberLink that comes with Windows as a back up program.
    Thanks anyway.

If the PC is deleted, it no longer exists.

It has long been recycled into something else. :)
Years ago my pc doctor would buy up old pc's that Marshall sold in yard
    sales to part out.

The first computer for The Thunderbolt BBS was a 32nd birthday
present. Arkansas Children's Hospital was upgrading their computers, and discarding the old ones. A friend of my brothers (I didn't know him at
the time) got me an 8088 XT, with 640K of RAM, a 20 Megabyte Hard Drive,
    a 3.5" and a 5.25" floppy drive, a keyboard, a mouse, DOS 3.2, and a
monochrome green monitor (with screen burn), for free.

At one time I thought green monitors were really something else.
With my Commie I used a 13" tv with a switcher.
I thought green was the latest and most up-to-date thing around. :)

I think I had one at one time that was yellow.
