Quoting Joe Mackey to Nancy Backus on 09-30-19 06:02 <=-
end of the year I mark that year on the front and(dropped off again... I'm guessing "and filed them away", or something
like that...?)
Righto.
Hey, you're getting good at making out my drop offs. :)
I find it interesting reading how much I made and spent over time. Youngsters today have no idea that one time people could make $200 a
month and pay taxes (federal/state), pay rent, buy groceries, a car, utilities, spending money, etc and still have money left over at the
end of the month. I have spoken to people who have the belief
(because they know no better) that what something cost today is what it was then and how in the world someone could live on only a couple
hundred a month which today would be over a thousand.
They just assume anyone making $50 a week had current expenses.
A rule of thumb is multiply income/outgo at 10.
I.e,, some that was 20 cents years ago is now $2.
Gas was once say 32 cents a gallon, that would be $3.25 today.
Taking into account money earned, it all somewhat balances out.
I like to use http://www.westegg.com/inflation/ comparing then and
now. When I was in the Navy I made a whole $150 a month, or there
about. But then I have free room and board. :)
That's to be another winter project, going to go through a lot ofAssuming that you don't get called in to work regularly to cover for the regulars.... ;)
stuff in there.
One can only hope. :)
Joe (I gotta clean out that closet some day).
