    Exactly... to say nothing of leaving one vulnerable... Richard used to
    turn off his computer at work when he left for the night... As I recall,
    the company IT weren't all that happy with him, but he felt it better

    I have never understood people leaving the monitor and modem on
    after the pc is shut down.

    Since the router feeds more than one computer here, that does get left
    on... but anything internal is shut down, as is the monitor and the
    printer and anything else external that might have been turned on...

    The wireless at our house comes through Richard's computer, so that gets
    shut down when he turns off his computer... :)
