• NNTP clients question

    Hi folks,

It may sound a bit like off-topic here and not directly related to jamnntpd.
I wonder what NNTP client you guys use for desktop and mobile. My guess would be using Thunderbird for Win/Mac and NewsTap for iOS (with 2-newsgroup limit
    in a free version).

For the FTN-style quotes, I can see you're testing the smartquote feature. Anybody has tried/used the "ftnquoter" add-ons for Thunderbird which is experimental and/or works for old versions?

Have you also experienced an issue with threads being broken as @REPLY is not properly set when replying?

    Best Regards,
    Nil

Thunderbird in Windows, Linux and OS/2
    Sylpheed in Windows and Linux
    HotDogEd in Android.

    feature.
Anybody has tried/used the "ftnquoter" add-ons for Thunderbird  which is experimental and/or works for old versions?

I think that one is outdated and does not work in newest Thunderbird?

Have you also experienced an issue with threads being broken as @REPLY
is not properly set when replying?

Not really, as long as the message base (JAM/Squish) is properly
    reply-linked.

I'm using Thunderbird and Claws Mail (fork of Sylpheed). I don't have iOS, but still looking for a good open source client for Android.

It's not maintained anymore and only is compatible with very old Thunderbird versions. In other words: it's useless.

I never had a problem with that.

I use Thunderbird 31.7.0 + ftnQuoter 0.9.2. FtnQuoter works more or less, but certainly it doesn't work in any area taken from Tommy's NNTP server. I don't know why. I use here another quoter of my own design.

Thunderbird has a neat feature you can set up your message base to be on a flash drive. In this case you don't need synchronizes messages if you use Thunderbird at several computers.

    Bye, Nil!
