Close - but no cee-gar. Ethyl Mercaptan is the most commonly added thing in natural or compressed gas. The smell has been described variously as "rotten eggs", "old socks", "rotten cabbage", etc. My smeller thinks the aroma is very pungent garlic. Skunk is *very* different - more like burning or very hot rubber mixed with sulphuric acid.

I think I'd rather put up with the snakes and spiders we get in the loo's
