    Hiya,

I'm wanting to setup UUCP for the BBS to pull in email.... I know it's old tech, however I'm limited in options with the BBS software. Does anyone
where I can grab a UUCP feed over IP from for email/newsgroups please, would really be appreciated.

    Nick.

Seriously? That's 30+ year old technology (pre WWW and http and so on). Why would you want that? BTW, I have a rotary dial telephone from the same age, are you interested?

I have an accoustic coupler sitting here ... have used it too in a Fido-environment.

    Hiya

Searchlight BBS ceased production in 1999, UUCP was the technology of the
time used by many BBS's via dialup/Waffle connections for email/news. It's always great to have a useful and helpful response like this, thank you. I
have a suggestion on where to store said telephone :-)

May not help, but search for free nntp servers on Google. Then use something like Irex or Soupgate to import. But if you are using Linux, soupgate is doing something to packets that husky doesnt like

Me too. I even have it unpacked (never used) in the original box. Just waiting for it to be worth a fortune...

I think that Paul Hayton is doing this so he may have some ideas. Nick
Andre or Frank Linhares may also be.
