    1) Yes, I know about that work around.

    2) I also know that it does only work well for Win 7 and higher.

    3) It only works for inbound. There is no general fix for outbound.

    4) TS is a returnee. After some 20 years. He probably knows very
little or nothing about IPv6. I would never recommend the combination
of 20 year old abandonware and such a work around to him.

    Hello Michiel

    Thx for understanding!

After this long time (24 years) I forgot a lot, new things comming up, that I don't use in that way. And a complete new BBS-Programm ( I would say, without a structured Doc-Files (for newbies), with samples and explaining how and why.

I started on 03.02.2023 to install Wildcat on a previously build Computer for this.

It is sometimes easier to grumble, as to understand (lol).

But I'm learning every week, beside my job and family. But I'm convinced, that everything would be fine in ther next weeks (or months... lol).

For me this is fun (again), takes it's time to run fine.

    Greets

And as you already know, this is very easy to fix.

    netsh int portproxy add v6tov4 listenport=24554 connectaddress=192.168.x.x connectport=24554 listenaddress=*

One of those new things that came up in de 24 years that you have been away is IPv6. The Internet Protocol that is the successor of IPv4, AKA TCP/IP. The odd thing is that you already present an IPv6 address in your host name. As a result Fidonet systems that support the new IPv6 protocol first try to connect to your system by IPv6. But that does not work because your system is not ready for it yet. I think /you/ are not ready for it yet. So for now I suggest you remove the IPv6 address (the so called AAAA record) from the DNS record associated with yout host name globalchaosbbs.com.

I started on 03.02.2023 to install Wildcat on a previously build
    Computer for this.

    Great!

Hmm indeed. I was a bit too quick. Perhaps I should have made that:

IPv4 (formerly also known as just "IP").

    Better?

Nope. Still the same: time out on IPv6.

    Firewall problem?

I see you took the easy way out. You removed the AAAA record from the DNS. :(

Perhaps you should come to the IPv6 echo. That is where the expertise is...
