    Hi Alan,
On <Wed, 08 May 19>, you wrote me:

After looking closer at your (and mine) uploaded .new file I can see
there is a difference between them. I see the CRs in your upload but
no LF where mine that seems to work as expected does have a CR/LF (or newline) pair. Does the editor in sempoint have options for this?

I don't believe there is any setting for CR/LF. Maybe this whole matter is in the internal BW support here. Meanwhile, SemPoint *does* offer the option to specify an external BW packer of choice.

(This is going back to you via RBB's Concord system - which does not seem to balk at the BW reply packets that I send.)

I'll try this process on another BBS (!Concord & !BBBS) that supports BW and has this echo.

I suspect this is happening in the internal BW support.

A light at the end of the tunnel? If you could use MultiMail as an external BW packer that might work.

Can I ask you a couple quick questions about sempoint?

    Is it shareware?
If it is shareware is it registerable? Is it fully functionable while unregistered? Is it freeware or opensource?
    Is it still in development/maintained?

It was shareware. The author made it freeware with the fully-functioning release of version 2.26 in December 1999. Here's a copy of the File_ID.diz...

Free, closed source. No maintainers. The author got it right, for the most part. I've been using it since late 2002, and... I wanna use it agin... soon!! :)

I dunno. I was looking for a "complete" Windows/program package for offline reading to recommend to people. Adding a full program like MultiMail just for packing is overkill. Meanwhile, I misread SemPoint's BW packing. The
"packing" is done with common archivers. So, what Sempoint actually does is create the BW style message internally.

I see that someone already responded and even sent you the program. Just be aware, that SemPoint appears to be 16bit/Win, but it works in my Win/XP test setup just fine.
