"configured" the string "The Rusty Mailbox" anywhere in SemPoint. It must com

blank the value if you want to turn kludge support off. That seems to have worked. Thank you! I see all the kludgyness glory now.But I wonder if we still have the stripped-CRs problem with this upload, as soon as i finish

    Well,

Sorry to say that is one ugly mess..

I am evaluating options now and awaiting feedback.

    Hi! August,

Yes! Much better. Simply sublime. mate. It makes me want to revive
my SemPoint in the wreckage of my original Fido node.

SemPoint is a very nice program for a BBS-esque experience (extensive tagline options/stealing, etc; many other configurable options, all in a nice GUI style to look great in Windows). Albiet, it is _16bit._ I am using it here with WinXP.

To bring it up do date (that is, tcp/ip), it would need a little help with BinkD. The manual method with BW or QWK is not my preference. But it could work for a n00bie getting aquainted with bbsing.

I am secretly working on this task. So far the left side of my brain is unaware of my evil plot. It's the thought of running Windows again that needs justifying.

In a sysop (or point operator) situation it performs extremely well using binkD, with a good tosser.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

Remember that mess that was all smooshed together when August uploaded BW packets to BBBS here a week or three ago?

Kim pointed me to an updated BBBS that hopefully supports the BW rep packets with simply CR instead of CR/LF or LF EOL.

If his reply looked OK to you (and others) I'll let Kim know that that update has successfully overcome that situation.

Although I knew it was a dupe, I've had a sleep since then.

    Sweet.

Okay, it was well-formed enough to have fun with. If it was good for you then it was good for me too. ;)

    Cheers,
    Paul.
