I decided to edit this message.

Perhaps it has to do with changes that will be coming about on the filegate. Right now we are in the midst of switching from Vincent Coen's excellent filegate system in the UK to mine, at 1:261/38. We have a few more connections to confirm and then we can give Vincent a break with file distribution at least. He'll still maintain his own file areas and maintain the Echolist.

Nodelists are produced in a number of tastes and varieties ...

NODELIST.xxx is the nodelist name for every zone on Friday. there may be
discrepancies due to production times which differ.
It is produced once a week.
As referenced in P4 "1 Overview ... FidoNet is defined by a
NodeList issued weekly by the International Coordinator"
For that reason the valid nodelist is available at 2:2/1000
and a link to its file-distribution can be obtained upon
Simple request.
Z1DAILY.xxx Daily list produced at 1:1/0
Z2DAILY.xxx Daily list produced at 2:2/1000
UTF8LIST.xxx Daily List in UTF8-format produced at 2:2/1000

That's about it.
