    It's not really my business, but that doesn't sound like a backwards-compatible change. What if somenoe had in their config file

    I added this feature for the only reason: I want to have a possibility of using lines of 80 characters long in a sample config in the documentation, so the lines are not stripped after the text is exported to pdf. Therefore one can use in real life a sample config with line continuations. But it is not meant for regular use. After any change in a line with continuations, all continuations will be appended to the first part of the line forming a line without continuations. So one should not use line continuations to make a config look nicer.
