• Gold Asteroid

From Lee Lofaso@2:203/2 to All on Fri Jun 28 23:31:12 2019
    Hello Everybody,

Gold! And it is mine! All mine!

NASA plans to send a rocketship and collect it for themselves.
But now that the golden asteroid has been found, and its location
known, it will become the property of whoever gets it first.

Sweden has a frisbee champion who is certified to fly USA
rocketships and Russian rocketships, making him the best space
pilot in the entire world. Not sure what space pilots China
has, but they do have a few. Nobody else has any space pilots
with experience, so it looks like they are holding all the
cards. Unless we build our own rocketships and fly them
    ourselves.

Just think of what this means. After NASA collects the asteroid,
it will have more gold than all the gold at Fort Knox (and elsewhere
around the world). What do you think NASA will do with all that
    gold?

Bj”rn has been telling us for decades that we should all invest
in gold. What do you think the price of gold will be once it becomes
so plentiful that nobody will care to own it? What will happen to
the portfolios of those who have invested everything they have into
    gold? Will they become homeless?

On the positive side, one will be able to wear all the gold jewelry
they want and never fear getting mugged ...

Getting there is the easy part, getting parts of it back to Earth is probably 50 to 100 years in the future. By then the world fiat money economy will be history anyway.

The European Rosetta mission, that landed a small rover on an asteroid, cost EUR1.3G. That's 32.5 tons of gold with today's value. And Rosetta wasn't even designed to return to Earth with it's rover. The cost for that would probably mean that for a decent ROI, they'd have to return 100 tons of pure gold to Earth. As I said, maybe in half a century or more, but not today or tomorrow.

The asteroid - Psyche 16 - is valued at $700 quintillian (USD)
current price of gold. That is almost $1 trillion (USD) for every
person on Earth. Just think what it would be like for you and
everyone else on this planet to become instant trillionaires!

Space mining is a growth industry, and the wave of the future.
China wants to be the dominant player in this game, as its leaders
control everything (owning the means of production, etc.). Do you
think the Chinese leadership will share their good fortune with
the rest of the world once they obtain the object(s) of their
    desire?

The European Rosetta mission, that landed a small rover on an asteroid,
    cost
    EUR1.3G. That's 32.5 tons of gold with today's value.

A gold mining company on Earth can mine about 4 to 5 million ounces
of gold per year. That pales in comparison to how many ounces of gold
    makes up Psyche 16.

And Rosetta wasn't even designed to return to Earth with it's rover. The cost for that would probably mean that for a decent ROI, they'd have to return 100 tons of pure gold to Earth. As I said, maybe in half a century or more, but not today or tomorrow.

There are 14.58 troy ounces in a pound.

$700 quintillion (USD) = $1 trillion (USD) per person on Earth

How many troy ounces of gold does Psyche 16 have?

More than you can count. A lot more.

There are two ways of getting all that gold to Earth.

One way is to send a bunch of rocketships to the asteroid and
    return with bits and pieces.

The other way is to send one rocketship to the asteroid and
attach a motor/engine so as to propel the asteroid to the Earth.

Landing the asteroid on the Earth should not be a problem,
as long as it is sent in the right direction.

By whom? The Russian troll channel RT? Do you happen to know how they came to that result?

Landing it somewhere in Louisiana OK then?

Playing bourr‚e (a Cajun card game) with gold is going to be a lot
more fun than playing with fiat money ...
