A sad story, I have been there twice.

    Hello Ward,

Today, 75 years ago, 4 days after D-Day,the French village of Oradour-sur-Glane was savagely destroyed with 642 people murdered by the
    SS
    without scruples.

Unlike Charlie Company, the SS did have some scruples.

    March 16, 1968
    My Lai massacre
    504 dead.
Mostly women, children and old men.

182 were women, 17 of them pregnant.
173 were children, including 56 infants.

Many of them were raped and mutilated
    before they were killed.

The rest were old men, of no threat to anybody.

US Army officers covered up the massacre for a year
before it was reported in the American press.

I wonder how long it took the Vietnamese to find out?

    Hello Ward,

How many innocents lost their lives in the bombings of Dresden?

How many innocents lost their lives in the bombings of Hiroshima?

How many innocents lost their lives in the bombings of Nagasaki?

How many innocents lost their lives in the shootings at My Lai?

None of us are truly innocent when it comes to war.

We all take part of it.

Some of us even celebrate it.

When bombs fall on a target of choice, the immages are shown
live on television to a worldwide audience. The president takes
to the air waves and becomes a national hero. His ratings soar
to astronomical levels as bombings continue. "We are winning!"
the big man says, without ever shedding a tear.

Death and Destruction are the only two prizes won by war.
But nobody is interested in the prizes, only the glory.
