    Hello Evrybody,

    Somebody.
    Please.
    Remind me.
    Never.
    To get.
    Another Samsung Smart TV.
    Ever.
    Again.

A very dear friend of mine gave me not one,
and not two, but three of those buggers.

    Brand spanking new.
    In the box.
    All tied together.
    By a cord.
Made lots of noise when cut.
Had to use a hammer to shut it up.

    Plug it in, works fine.
Try to program it to use with other devices,
    it is Frankenstein's monster.

    Somebody.
    Please.
    Remind me.
    Never.
    To get.
    Another Samsung Smart TV.
    Ever.
    Again.

Thank you for listening to my rant.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about here. I have two Samsung Smart TV sets here and they have worked perfectly well for many years.

One is in the basement where I have my library and my pool table as well as other non-TV activities going on.

Another one in my bedroom, where I have 5.1 sound support installed via the optical fiber from the TV set.

Both of the above have each one Raspberry Pi connected to my huge library of downloaded movies and TV shows.

So, please tell me what else you expect from your TV set.

I have 3, as they age, I seem to have more and more problems with the apps installed. They'll lock up without warning, and load slower and slower each month, it seems.

I've hooked a Roku up to one of them at this point because the apps are almost unusable.

    Ah! A fellow digital packrat!

I've got about 50TB of TV/Movies on a server with 24 drives of various sizes (63TB of total space). I stream it all to various TVs using PLEX, which has apps for just about every TV and device in existence.

I can even stream to remote locations, like my cottage or a hotel if I'm traveling.

Ah yes, there is that of course. On my oldest one, the Youtube app disappeared years ago, and just a month or so ago the HBO app no longer was supported. But Chromecast still works, albeit not so easily operated (with the TV set remote control).

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about here.

TV sets. Specifically, Samsung Smart TV sets. Although it could
apply to other TV sets as well.

I have two Samsung Smart TV sets here and they have worked perfectly well for many years.

Oh, the TV sets work fine. That is not the problem.

One is in the basement where I have my library and my pool table as well as
    other non-TV activities going on.

    And it works fine, yes?

Another one in my bedroom, where I have 5.1 sound support installed via the
optical fiber from the TV set.

And it also works fine, yes?

Both of the above have each one Raspberry Pi connected to my huge library of

When did I ever say there was anything wrong with a Samsung Smart TV?

So, please tell me what else you expect from your TV set.

To work, after my brother sets it up with other devices, such as
external speakers and blu-ray players, etc. You are talking about
a guy who is a retired manager for Exxon Oil. Has nothing better
to do with his time than try to fix things.

I have 0 issues connecting devices to my Samsung TVs. The only issues I have are the aforementioned app issues as the TV ages. I have A PS4, Nintendo Switch, blu-ray player, a Roku, and even a PC hooked up to them without any problems.

I can't speak for audio out, as home theater audio just isn't in the cards for my house.

    What issues is he having?
