I want all Fidonet echomail messages ever created.

LOL! I don't think you understand what you are asking for.

I have every message created in this echo since I was elected
moderator in 2002. It takes up 268MB of space here, meaning that
it's probably more than a quarter of a million messages. This is
from almost ten years after Fidonet's peak -- there's probably
another quarter of a million messages from the years before that.

Can your BBS handle even this one echo? It's not even the biggest
one...

Then, also, some punctuation you use when posting articles from Internet
will look correct. Although, some NNTP clients (for instance
Thunderbird) automatically analyse the message text before sending it.
If your text was copied from UTF8 web page it can contains some illegal symbols for ASCII charset, and in this case Thunderbird will transform
the text to UTF8 automatically and nothing can be done. The way out is
only one - to filter wrong symbols. The main question is how. However in English the texts with bad chars are not very heavy problem. Another
thing is with Cyrillic texts. When I made my ReformatorQuoter I had to
make a very strong filter to prevent Thunderbird from becoming UTF8crazy. ;)
