• Horrible Thought

From Lee Lofaso@2:203/2 to All on Mon Apr 6 23:39:22 2020
    Hello Everybody,

I just had a horrible thought.
    A truly most horrific thought.

Joe Orange said he would not put on a mask.
Yes, I realize looking at that orange face of his
is bad enough. Even without a mask. But just
think of what would happen to him by not wearing
    a mask.

"You don't have to do it. I'm choosing not to do it, but some
people may want to do it and that's OK. It may be good. Probably
    will."

That is what Joe Orange told the people of the United States
in one of his campaign events, known as White House briefings.

Asked why he chooses not to wear a mask, this was his response -

"I just don't want to be doing [that], somehow sitting in the
Oval Office behind that beautiful resolute desk, the great Resolute
    Desk."

Hiding behind a desk is very presidential. JFK did it.
Even used a pen to sign documents while at it. Without ever
wearing a mask while doing so.

"I think wearing a face mask as I greet presidents, prime ministers,
dictators, kings, queens, I don't know somehow I don't see it for
myself. I just don't. Maybe I'll change my mind."

Joe Orange change his mind? When has he ever done that? NEVER!

Again, why won't the POTUS wear a mask? What is the real reason?

The president said he would not put on a mask. Why won't he put
on a mask in the midst of a pandemic? I am sure he must have a
    reason. A real reason.

    "I was just tested. I assume I don't have the virus so I don't
have to worry about spreading it."

Okay. Now we know. The matter has been resolved. The president
doesn't give a sh*t about anybody except himself.

Everybody else wants to do everything they can to stop the disease
from spreading and, unlike the president, they will put on masks.

But that is not my horrific thought.

Joe Orange cannot win a second term, as polls show him too far
behind his main opponent, Joe Biden.

Therefore, Joe Orange has chosen to use the nuclear option, which
    is now his only option.

Hence his decision not to wear a mask.

    Now. Think this out.
Joe Orange declared he would not wear a mask.
Great. Catch this and get really sick.
Then he might shut the f*ck up.
    Make all his opposition happy.
Until his opponents think it through.
If Joe Orange caught COVID-19 and RECOVERED ...
He would portray himself as Superman.
"See I got this beautiful virus, fought it ... won."
If he survives, his insane followers would say it
    proved he's God's chosen.
And you know what that means.

If Joe Orange catches this ... let us pray.

    Hello David,

If Joe Orange catches this ... let us pray.

Are you not doing that already (for all that it might help)?

    One more time.

Joe Orange is losing badly in the polls.
So badly he has absolutely no chance of winning.
Even against a candidate who is well past prime time.
So what is he to do but throw a Hail Mary?
By choosing not to wear a mask, Joe Orange is likely to get sick.
Everybody will pray for him, hoping for a swift recovery.
If he survives, he will be viewed as Superman.
His opponent will not have a chance in the election,
as Joe Orange wins in a landslide.

Now what am I and others to do? Pray for him to die?
Of course not. That is absurd. The only option we have
is to pray he never gets sick. Even though we all know
that is not what is going to happen.

So please. Please pray for us. We really need your prayers.

Why? Nancy Pelosi said she prays for the president. So did I.
Is that what upsets you? The fact that people pray for the president?

Roy Witt did not mind speaking his own mind.
Donald Trump also does not mind speaking his own mind.
Even Joe Biden likes to speak his own mind.
So why shouldn't I and others do the same?

Nancy Pelosi prays for the president.
    She said so herself.
    Why does she do it?
Because that is what she believes,
    due to her religious faith.

There are many others who also pray for the president,
including myself. And so should we all. After all, he
needs all the prayers he can get - especially at this
    time of trial.

It (the horrible thought) went right over your head.

This country is so divided right now that neither side
is listening to the other. This is total polarization.

The president said he will not wear a mask. That means he will likely
get sick. Nobody should want him to get sick. If he gets sick, and
recovers, he will win the election in a landslide due to an appeal to
sympathy. If he gets sick and dies, it will be a tragedy for us all, especially for his family.

I pray he does not get sick.
I pray nobody else gets sick.

I wish the coronavirus would go away and that nobody would have to die.
But we all know there is a difference between fantasy and reality.

I do not wish anybody dead. Not even my worst enemy.
I wish everyone in the whole world was in perfect health,
each and every day of their lives. But that is not the
way it is in the real world. And I doubt it ever will be.

But the wish will always be the same.

    Hello Bj”rn,

She's a USAian. USA is a very special case when it comes to religious fanaticism.

Fanaticism? You want fanaticism? Here is what a local pastor
in Baton Rouge, Louisiana had to say -

"Death is a welcomed friend." ~Pastor Tony Spell of Life Tabernacle
Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (USA), 4/8/2020

This nut led a congregation of 1000+ like-minded nuts in prayer,
defying the governor's executive order not to hold gatherings of 10
or more people. He was charged for having violated the order, but
apparently just does whatever floats his own boat.

He said if his church members die from coronavirus, they've done
so in the name of religious freedom. IOW, it is a zealot death cult.
And zealots are free to do whatever they want.

"The bible teaches us to be absent from our bodies so we can be
present with the Lord. So like any revolutionary, or like any zealot,
or like any pure religious person, death looks to them like a welcomed
    friend." ~Pastor Tony Spell, 4/8/2020

See there? True Christians would be willing to die from coronavirus,
as the good pastor told his congregation those who "prefer tyranny over
    freedom do not deserve freedom."

"Don't be afraid to die." ~Jim Jones

Nowhere else in the 21st century world is religion so important that they even contemplate filling their churches by their Eastern celebrations, hoping that their deity will hear their prayers and protect them from the virus.

Jim Jones did his thing in the 20th century, outside the USA.
    But he was a USAian.

David Koresh did his thing in the 20th century, inside the USA.
    But he was a Texan.

We need to find a religious zealot for the 21st century. Any takers?

She's a USAian. USA is a very special case when it comes to religious fanaticism.

Her stated reason is because she is Catholic. Not because
she's a "USAian". It is her faith that makes her pray.

Nowhere else in the 21st century world is religion so important that they even contemplate filling their churches by their Eastern celebrations, hoping that their deity will hear their prayers and protect them from the virus.

St. Peter's Basilica is empty. Nobody visits St. Peter's Square.
The entire place is like a ghost town. Even the pope gave up his
title `vicar of Christ' - leading some folks to believe he is the
Antichrist. Maybe the world really is coming to an end.

I have no problem with people offering their opinion. Opinions aren't
facts, or truths, or a reality. They are simply someone's thoughts on
a subject. We all usually have an opinion on almost everything. The
point that I was making was that everyone should put thought into what

I have failed to do that on occasion. Then after the fact I read what

I totally agree Lee. I hear that the UK prime minister is in critical

Self censorship maybe, but still censorship.

Thats where we differ I guess. We are all free to say what we choose. Saying and being able to say what one chooses is to me the basis of
free speech. We are free to choose or NOT to choose to say what we
think and feel. Could be we differ on simple semantics.

Yell "Fire!" in a crowded theatre and see what happens.

If there is (or never was) a real fire, the person who yelled
"Fire!" will be in big doo-doo. Probably spend lots of quality
time hauling rocks or some other activity at the local funhouse.

Yell "Rape!" in a crowded theatre and see what happens.

Even if no real rapist is anywhere around, the person who yelled
"Rape!" will be protected by everyone, and all will be well.

Too many people, media, politicians are yelling fire. Too many supposed
facts and numbers are being given or force fed to the public. Many times
only part of the truth is being stated. People are using this time of
stress, fear and concern to tell the public what they are suppose to
believe and who they are supposed to blame. Same crap different day.

    Hello Jeff,

Running the numbers (statistical analysis done properly) reveals
a far different story than what we have been told in regards to
the mortality rate of COVID-19. Seems the real numbers are much
closer to that of the seasonal flu. Studies of Santa Clara County
show the mortality rate of COVID-19 as being 0.2% - which would
be only a tad bit more than the seasonal flu rate of 0.1%.

How many newspapers would be sold if a novel virus was found only
to kill a few more people than the seasonal flu? Would the entire
country be shut down as a result?

    Sources on request.
