• Coronavirus Update

From Lee Lofaso@2:203/2 to All on Sun Feb 16 22:13:24 2020
    Hello Everybody,

The World Health Organization calls the coronavirus pandemic
a "public health emergency of international concern" for good
reason. Students from the University of Virginia have come
up with a computer program to keep a live update, showing which
areas of the world are most affected along with numbers in
    real time.

China has clearly been unable to contain the coronavirus, as it
has spread far and wide to several countries throughout the world,
as the graphics displays make abundantly clear.

A beautiful job done by these college students. They should
all be applauded for their efforts.

Maybe Belgium is not honest about what they report? GIGO, you know...

    Real time ?

They are students. Need time to keep up with their studies.

The information for Belgium is faulty.

Nobody knows what the real numbers are, as the tests are not
all that accurate. Many people who have the virus show no symptoms,
and the virus continues to spread unabated - despite the best efforts
    to contain it.

Boy Scouts of America, hobbled by multiple sex-abuse lawsuits,

The Boy Scouts of America has filed for bankruptcy protection.

Facing mounting legal costs from defending itself against lawsuits
alleging sexual abuse of boys, the venerable nonprofit sought
Chapter 11 protection in a court filing early Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Boy Scouts of America said in a statement that the
filing had "two key objectives: equitably compensate victims who were
harmed during their time in Scouting and continue carrying out its
mission for years to come. The BSA intends to use the Chapter 11
process to create a Victims Compensation Trust that would provide
    equitable compensation to victims."

The Boy Scouts said that only the national organization had filed for
Chapter 11 and that local councils that provide programming and other
    services are financially independent.

Some of those lawsuits could be settled with the money saved by not paying six-digit salaries and the firstone being a 6.

Other than that, this is the national organization from Irving TX which has registered assets totaling ... $50,000 ... that's correct, 5 digits. That's the one seeking protection.

Every council is a legal entity of its own and is not affected or implicated by this.

FYI, they've already mortgaged the Philmont Scouting Ranch in Arizona.

    Ask me if I care...
