What a vile thing to say. You are what some folks would
call "a human garbage" - as one journalist from the Washington
Post found out for her tweet along the same line as your post.
Her editor found it so amusing he suspended her indefinitely.

But hey. You are Big Boy of Fidonet. The IC who can do no wrong.
Never in a million years could you ever be wrong. About anything.

The charges [sexual assault and false imprisonment] were dropped
when the suicidal 19-year-old accuser refused to testify, although
Kobe Bryant did admit to have cheated on his wife - which is not a
crime - and that having had sex with the 19-year-old was consensual.
A civil suit has reportedly been settled with the alleged victim,
but terms of the agreement have never been released.

Oh, did I mention Kobe's wife remained with him? They never split.
Golly gee. You think Vanessa was really that angry with him for
having slept with a suicidal nutjob who wanted to make some easy money?

Face it, Ward. This was a classic case of extortion. Pay the girl
some money else you do life in prison. That's the deal. Kobe called
her bluff, and now he's dead.

How quickly people, and the press, forget when it's convenient.

Kobe Bryant is literally dead. Are you trying to get him to pay
for his `crimes' in the afterlife? You post things like this so
action can be taken against THE ACCUSED. He's gone now. Please
enlighten us all (not just me) on the need for this post now of
all times. What exactly do guys like you want?

Guilt by accusation. Even by a nutjob. That is all it takes
    to ruin an individual's reputation.

As IC of FidoNet, you should apologize to all for your comments
about Kobe Bryant. What you wrote was truly heartless and disgusting.

Oh, one more thing. Kobe Bryant did read an apology in court,
and then all charges were dropped. What a nice guy, giving his
accuser far more than she ever deserved.

Individuals who make false accusations should never be rewarded.
Journalists and reporters are supposed to tell the truth rather than
spread rumors and lies. In this case, a deliberate falsehood made
by a 19-year-old woman who was trying to make a quick buck from a
young 27-year-old basketball player who was in need of knee surgery.
The editor was being kind not to have fired her on the spot for

The man is dead, along with his daughter, and is unable to defend
himself. And now you are saying he has to pay for his `crimes' in

He was THE ACCUSED. Never convicted of a thing. But the innocent
can never prove it, so in your eyes they are forever guilty. Just
because somebody made an ACCUSATION. That makes THE ACCUSED guilty
of sin. Without ever having to face his accuser(s) in court of
    law.

Please enlighten me on this. Please enlighten us all on this
now. What exactly do you guys want? When he was alive, he said
he was not guilty. He did admit to have cheated on his wife, but

SHE REFUSED TO TESTIFY UNDER PENALTY OF PERJURY.

IOW, she had made it all up in order to extort money from
    a [sports] celebrity.

Remember, sex between two consenting adults is not a crime.

To make her feel better, he read an apology in court. Then all
charges were dropped, and he settled a civil suit with the alleged
victim. Terms of the agreement were never released.

“First, I want to apologize directly to the young woman involved in
this incident. I want to apologize to her for my behavior that night
and for the consequences she has suffered in the past year. Although
this year has been incredibly difficult for me personally, I can only
imagine the pain she has had to endure. I also want to apologize to
her parents and family members, and to my family and friends and
supporters, and to the citizens of Eagle, Colorado.

I also want to make it clear that I do not question the motives of
this young woman. No money has been paid to this woman. She has agreed
that this statement will not be used against me in the civil case.
Although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I
recognize now that she did not and does not view this incident the
same way I did. After months of reviewing discovery, listening to her
attorney, and even her testimony in person, I now understand how she
feels that she did not consent to this encounter.

I issue this statement today fully aware that while one part of this
case ends today, another remains. I understand that the civil case
against me will go forward. That part of this case will be decided by
and between the parties directly involved in the incident and will no
longer be a financial or emotional drain on the citizens of the state
    of Colorado.”

    -Kobe Bryant

Now. What `crimes' was he convicted of again?

Time for Ward D. to man up and issue his own apology.

    Hello Oli,

He's an American sex offender who in 2004 settled his case out
of court for an undisclosed amount in excess of 2.5 million
    US$.

What a vile thing to say. You are what some folks would

A female journalist reminds us about the Bryant's rape case and she is instantly attacked by men calling her "human garbage" and making death threats. Do you want to join them being a sexist and violent arsehole?

Felicia Somnez is the female journalist in question. The reason
why she was suspended was not due to what she had written, but rather
because of a follow up tweet that contained a screen shot of her work
email inbox, which revealed full names of emailers.

Her editor did not like that one bit.

    - as one journalist from the Washington
Post found out for her tweet along the same line as your post.
Her editor found it so amusing he suspended her indefinitely.

other media outlets don't shy away from reporting

Somnez is young, and acted in an unprofessional manner.
However, age is no excuse, as she really should have known
better. I know cub reporters who know better than to make
    those kinds of mistakes.

A cardinal rule is to protect your sources. Always protect
your sources. Never reveal to others (aside from your editor)
who or what your source(s) are.

Most major dailies require at least two credible sources.
Somnez merely linked a three and a half year story to her
tweet. Not really a story of her own. Then she wrote a
follow up tweet that is what got her suspended. That no-no
was almost as bad as the first cardinal rule of reporting.

I hope she learns from her experience, and becomes a better journalist/reporter. Her employer, as well as her audience,
    deserves better.

Because they get to live forever. And never age a bit.
    Just like Jesus.

Is this some superstitious fear of the dead?

Oh, come now. Jesus is black. Get over it.

    https://www.truthovertradition.com/biblical-proof-that-jesus-is-black/

Have you ever seen a picture of an elderly Jesus?
Of course not. That Swedish guy with blue eyes and
long flowing blond hair and beard to match is not
the real Jesus. That dude is a mobster. White guy
who wanted to make a name for himself. The cite
above has a picture of a painting of him. As well
as a picture of the fake Jesus painted after him.
    Do notice the resemblance.

Now, if you read your gospel, you would know that Jesus
was a black man, with nappy hair. This is also noted in
the above cite, so there is no need for you to grab your
    holy book.

.... OTOH she could be a black woman who was preggers
when pegged to a tree. But nobody wants to believe me
    on that one.

    Hello Gerrit,

On the contrary, with the passing of Roy Witt we stopped the silly
game of spelling police and grammar nazis.

Obviously not. Or is this "we" of yours supposed to be some sophisticated form of pluralis (if so, please specify it to be majestatis, modestiae, auctoris, benevolentiae...).

Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?
    Who dat? Who dat?

    Hello Richard,

On the contrary, with the passing of Roy Witt we stopped the silly game
of spelling police and grammar nazis.

I am by no means a grammar expert but I do get a twitch when I see particularly bad grammar or spelling. If you like I would be more than
    happy
    to police for you... ;)

    Do you speak Yat?

    Hello David,

    Which doesn't proof anything ...

    or prove it, either ;)

    Roy Witt is dead.

    But he'll be back.

    Janis promised.
