From Lee Lofaso@2:203/2 to All on Mon Apr 1 20:33:09 2019
    Hello Everybody,

Where is the most dangerous place in the world
to be for women? What country should women prefer
to stay away from, rather than come running to?

Here are the top 10 countries that are the most
dangerous places to be for women. Notice there
is only one country in the civilized West that
    made the list -

    1. India
    2. Afghanistan
    3. Syria
    4. Somalia
    5. Saudi Arabia
    6. Pakistan
    7. Democratic Republic of Congo
    8. Yemen
    9. Nigeria
    10. United States of America

Yep. With Donald Trump, the United States
is moving up in the world. MAGA.

Note the "BS" at the end of your URL. The entire article is just one long appeal to authority. (That's a logical fallacy, by the way.)

"India was named as the world's most dangerous country for women in a survey
of global experts." Not a scientific study, just an amalgamation of opinions
    of unnamed "global experts".

The US entry reads in part: "The survey came after the #MeToo campaign went viral last year, with thousands of women using the social media movement to share stories of sexual harassment or abuse."

In other words, the opinions of these anonymous "experts" were strongly influenced in the immediate aftermath of a tweetstorm of unsubstantiated
claims coming out of the US.

Yeah, totally unbiased scientific survey there.

I'm willing to believe data -- crime statistics, police reports, you know,
hard evidence. I'm not inclined to believe the opinions of a bunch of
folks who spend too much time on Twitter just 'cause someone called them "global experts".

The Thomson Reuters Foundation Survey was conducted March 26
and May 4. This survey is conducted every few years, and is
highly respected, as the methodology used is quite sound.

IOW, a very recent survey. By no means out of date.

In other words, the opinions of these anonymous "experts" were strongly influenced in the immediate aftermath of a tweetstorm of unsubstantiated claims coming out of the US.

    What gives you that idea?

Yeah, totally unbiased scientific survey there.

The methodology used is sound. The interpretation of the results
is sound. What more is there to question?

The survey was not conducted via Twitter.

Irrelevant. No matter how well conducted, or how sound the methodology, it is still just a survey of "experts" opinions, so the most it can claim is to
be an accurate reflection of somebody's opinions, not of reality.

The reality of the 550 experts on women's issues who took part
in the survey are far more knowledgeable on the subject than most
folks on the face of this planet. Including both you and me.
