    It's a space-waster, but a cool way to implement a modicum of
    privacy between users if desired.

BTW.. you quoted back with CHARS UTF-8, and that failed viewing
it with the Telegram app, for me.

I don't know about privacy, but there probably are some use cases where it could be usefull.

Sorry about that, it is sort of the default in my editors config. I've never taken the time to look into it, to make it operate better...

And it's also wrong because it should be 'UTF-8 4' instead of 'UTF-8 2'...

    Bye, Wilfred.

    Hello Wilfred!

    a QR code test

Interesting. OpenXP is handling the repeated quoting back and
forth OK. But your posts don't look right with the Telegram
app, and the quoted messages are broken via NNTP as well.

My original from Telegram using these, looked ok on NNTP:

    X-SMAPI-Control: @CHRS: CP866 2
    Content-Type: text/plain; charset=koi8-r; format=fixed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit

    It's a space-waster, but a cool way to implement a modicum
of privacy between users if desired.

I don't know about privacy, but there probably are some
use cases where it could be usefull.

How do you see it used successfully? I was thinking it would be
OK for obfuscating the odd spoiler-alert or an answer to a quiz.
But that's about it, I think. As log as the "box" doesn't go
beyond 21x21 chars, then it is usable anywhere.

BTW.. you quoted back with CHARS UTF-8, and that failed
viewing it with the Telegram app, for me.

Sorry about that, it is sort of the default in my editors
config. I've never taken the time to look into it, to make
    it operate better...

No control of charset per echo?

And it's also wrong because it should be 'UTF-8 4' instead
    of 'UTF-8 2'...

Well.. perhaps UTF-8 should be avoided for select echos.

Probably because of my wrong CHRS kludge for these high ascii characters.

    It's a space-waster, but a cool way to implement a modicum
of privacy between users if desired.

I don't, I'm just open to the posibility there might be some use for it, we haven't thought of.

I was thinking it would be OK for obfuscating the odd spoiler-alert or
an answer to a quiz. But that's about it, I think.

That could work, if you know your audience has the ability to decode it.

    I read your message from 11.04.2021 16:36

"Just testing QR bits here to see how the char spacing looks on my Blackberry."

I read it easily in Thunderbird(koi8r). It cannot be read in Android Telegram (QR code is distorted).

I find that I get distortion on the Android version that is

But they look fine in the DT version for Win7.
