You know, it would be nice if the REPLYTO kludge was
picked up when trying to reply to the message via
    netmail.

I think that is your reader's or bbs's duty. ;)

It could be, I'm not blaming any program in particular.
But if the REPLYTO kludge is required, it should be used.

The REPLYTO is a suggested method to implement a reply when the
    original message crosses network channels/gateways.

    See FSC-0035 at ftsc.org.

I'm replying within Mystic. I might look into other
options later. Actually I'm sure that I will.

Mystic is still relatively young. Maybe the developer can be
encouraged to add support for REPLYTO. It was done in OpenXP
not long after I brought up the matter.

OpenXP uses the REPLYTO as expected.

Unfortunately, I don't think OpenXP is compatible with my
setup. Or at least I haven'tt managed to get it to run
    yet.

OpenXP might complicate your BBS-in-a-Pocket project. Since
OpenXP is a point program, you would need to configure Mystic to
build packets for OpenXP to pick up. Then you would have a
double-database of messages. :( Do you really want that?

Sounds like native support for REPLYTO would be better, indeed.

    God those messes.....

He's in at least a couple of Networks that I'm in. I might suggest it.

I'm looking beyond BBS in a pocket. While I still would like to see a native app for it, my ideas went beyond that to a full suite of BBSZ software
options. Aftershock and HotdogEd are both point system apps, but both have issues and slow/no support. Maybe OpenXP could be a better option.

If I could get it working in my Termux session, it stands to reason it could
be ported to a native Android app.

What I am seeing is that my phone's hardware is more or less along similar lines as a Raspberry Pi, so I'm hunting down BBS related software that works with armf structure.

BBS programs that I am aware of with PI versiobs are Mystic, Synchronet, and Enigma.

I've successfully managed to install and run Syncterm in Termux, although I'm still working on adjusting the screen size. But it works and allows uploading and downloading files via X, Y, or Zmodem. It also has source code
available, so could be made into a native Androud app rather easily, I think.

So now I'm looking at point software and Mail Readers.

Theoretically, for the average portabe device user, something combining
Telnet and a Mail reader would be the easiest way for them to Access BBS echo with the least learning curve. Points and BBSes have more technical things
than someone would be ready for to start out.

Sounds like native support for REPLYTO would be better, indeed.

    Probably so.
