Thank you to Ward Dossche for this one :)
Overheard at the airport ...
A guy goes up to the baggage check-in with 3 bags.
"I want this bag sent to Toledo, this one to Atlanta, and this
one to Chicago."
"We can't do that."
"You did it last week!"
Thank you to Ward Dossche for this one :)

ROFLMAO!! I needed that this morning. :D
Hi Daryl,
Yes, it was a good one :)
Yes, it was a good one :)
And, the sad part of that is...in so many ways, it's true!!

I've logged thousands of flights and "never" lost anything. A one day delay WD>best due to short connections.

As I've mentioned in the Editorial, I've contacted Nick Andre
and Ward Dossche about the pages in the Zone 1 section at
fidonet.org.
Actually, it was I who sent you a netmail explaining I had
wrestled control over the domain and the website and told you if
changes were to be applied to the Z1-portion they could now be
included after being reviewed by ZC1:
* You never answered that message.
* You never sent me any draft updated site
* You never cc-ed a mail you allegedly sent to Nick Andre, not
in netmail,
not in email.
Some people yaw, bitch and moan about bad information on this
site... the ball is in your court Ward and Nick :)
Actually, you should post accurate information and not a lie such
as ...
"I've mentioned this in an email to Nick Andre and cc'd the
to Ward Dossche, who owns the domain now."
You never sent such a cc to me.
I don't understand your attempts at discrediting Nick, he's the
first decent ZC1 in decades ... finally no weekly complaints
anymore about the quality of the ZONE1-segment which now gets
issued automatically, as a clockwork, on time.
After failing in your FIDONEWS-putsch, failing to fuel zone-warz
is running Nick out of town now your next objective?
Regardless of who's lying, you now have information (via this echo
if not by another channel), that there are updated Z1 pages that could/should be applied to the website that you control.
What reason is there now for you to not do the update?
You would seem to be the one fueling zone-warz. Could you please
just do what has been asked of you instead of complaining about
who is {not|talking} to/about each other? Thanks!
What reason is there now for you to not do the update?

LOL!!!!! At least you said please!

Probably because no pages on the website about Zone 1 are going to be
until the ZC1 has a chance to review them. Read my message to Janis.

Or crap, do the pages yourself guys... It's not rocket science after
all <laugh>

They can't. Apparently they claim to have more resourceful granddaughters that can do it. LOL
You could look into getting them auto-delivered via an FDN feed
from your hub, and put right into your BBS with a TIC processor
(built in to SBBS already)... Much easier and automatic once you
set it up.

I'll send a netmail to Marc Lewis. I have a batchfile set up
already to look for things like that, and to process them. But, I
don't have a TIC processor set up over here.

It's built into Synchronet, called 'Tickit'. Lots of good info on
how to set up and use it, on the Synchronet Wiki.
you don't really need one, either... just look for the file mask in your bat
file and do whatever with it when it exists... the TIC can simply be deleted
you don't need any information from it...

That's what I'm doing already...if I can accomplish in a batchfile
what another program would do, that's one less program I have to
install and configure.

true and as a leaf node, that's all you need... if you were announcing file arrivals on your system and/or passing them on to other systems, you'd want a TIC processor running to handle them...
I wasn't aware that Bill McGarrity had passed away recently as well.
I didn't hear about Bill passing... Damn...
No, that was our Bill...
I was trying to find the email from Bill's family that he had indeed passed JK>away, but it has been too long... that message is gone and thunderbird has JK>updated many times since then :(
Bill passed away and his family contacted me about this... It was really sad
remember that much. :(
There have since been messages (in FidoNews, I think) that make it
clear that Bill McGarrity is still with us. The reports of his
passing are erroneous.

I just download the FIDONews and the FIDOGazette, but only read
the FIDOGazette in the QWK Mail Packet. I check the IFDC website
each Thursday, and get the copies that way.
I think there is more than one "Daryl Stout" in existence...but
there's only one ham radio operator in the world with the
callsign WX4QZ (me).

Let me explain Daryl's thoughts a little: we amateur radio
operators are proud of our callsign. We've worked hard to get it
and a callsign is like a fingerprint: you are the only one in the
entire world with that callsign. My amateur radio callsign is
KD5COL -- again, I am the only one in the world with that
callsign and it identifes me uniquely. I've held that single
callsign for 22 years now since having it assigned to me by the
Federal Communications Commission in 1997.
It may not make complete sense to you but we hams consider our
callsign a thing of pride and we normally identify each other by
our callsigns rather than our names. Daryl will frequently
address me as "COL"; that is common amongst hams.
73 DE KD5COL (best regards from KD5COL),
Sean
