  • wcOnline Errors.

    I have installed the latest Gamma, and twice yesterday, wcOnline has shut down. I am running wcOnline as a service, and have pasted the Event Viewer information below. I see nothing in the WC5 directory logs that show
    anything. I am not sure if this is related to the Gamma, but wanted to pass it along for your info/feedback.

    You don't have any WCHOSTFAULT.LOG with recent entries?

    Any time matching sequence with the activity logs?

    Is it possible to run it as a desktop for the time being to see if you
    can catch it repeat again?

    What we want to know is which of the wcOnline hosting dlls failed, POP3,
    HTTP, FTP, TELNET?

    When you get the doctor watson, record the time and time.

    Look for the exact time in WCHTTP.LOG and the WCHOSTFAULT.LOG.

    Having an entry in wchostfault.log doesn't mean anything is bad.

    It means it captured a problem with a WCX program and continues.

    But if the problem is severe that WINS can no long handle it, then
    Windows takes over, drops WCONLINE.EXE and saves a Doctor Watson fault.

    Attached is the drwatson log from yesterday when the error occurred.
    Activity is somewhat lighter today and no problems have been detected.

    I'll keep a close eye on it.

    Hector,

    Fridays are the busiest day for my WINS (Every node tied up all day), and no problems from Friday or the entire weekend. I am going to mark this one up
    as a freak of nature. I'll still keep watch, but if it survived Friday without a
    hitch, then I believe there is no problem.
