    Hi All,
    ...Greets from my Telegram app!

    DOSBox-X

I just noticed that someone posted info about DOSBox-X for their system. Here is the post:

    ConstructiveChaos BBS

If you haven't checked out DOSBox-X yet, I highly recommend it. It has some very worthwhile features for running 16-bit DOS door games.

I'm very pleased to say that Yankee Trader is now running with simultaneous multi-node play enabled here at ConChaos. This is thanks to DOSBox-X, a special version of #DOSBox that adds tons of nice features, two of which are essential for old door games: working socket-inheritance and file sharing/locking between multiple instances.
I've documented my setup at: https://conchaos.synchro.net/yt_info.html#dosbox In addition, I've also been running a second YT game, with missiles disabled, to prevent players from spamming missiles to probe the galaxy.

    Ciao!

It even had support for Windows 3. So Windows applications would also run
as X applications and it was even possible to use them from remote (just
    like normal X applications).

Network transparency of X is just great (do you hear that, Wayland?)!

    Regards,
    Anna/X :)

Desqview/X seemed pretty incredible, but it came a little too late for me. I was working on UNIX systems and would have liked X server support, but by
the time I'd heard of it, Windows 3.1 and OS/2 had gotten settled in.

I do a lot of work on Linux systems with X servers remotely now, I should
play around with DV/X and see if I can get it to work in DOSBOX.

On another note, does anyone know of a DOS SSH client that can talk to an SSHv2 server?

Haven't tried it, but this sounds promising:
