I recently installed a door game called Charlie's Baseball by Charles Crawford. The game is free, however it uses a program called DBOLCLIP.EXE for game file management. This program requires registering. It has a copyright of 1993 by Merlin Systems Inc. Or maybe even DBONLINE, that I'm not sure. Anyone know of a way to register this program?

cbb-v11.zip is the game data, which includes one of the doors from...

the "door kit" it uses: http://annex.retroarchive.org/cdrom/cotc-3/BBS/DBONLINE.ZIP

it's litearally a door intended to use with dBase/clipper/foxpro stuff.. i'd guess the author imagined people creating order forms with it they could then pull with their accounting system.. and this guy made a baseball game out of it lol

it seems the binary contains both the unregistered and fully registered versions at least.. it opens dbonline.key and attempts to verify if it's registered or not, but that's as far as i got (it was late)

from the docs he made it sound like the game is permanently broken though.. he took steps to prevent running into the database limitation so even with a registered version of the "parent" door, it would still limit itself

The game actually runs all nine innings. It's rather different, but it works with the patch. The problem I have is when you get to the end a screen pops
up stating the DBONLINE is not registered and it quits and hangs up the BBS so you have to ALT-H out. I can do without the game but it'd be nice to still have it.
