I'm doing a little catch-up work on my server. Can the blog part of
Winserver be made to serve as a public blog similar to Linkedin and other
    blog type servers?

If you are thinking in terms of public side publishing I presume you are looking at being web searchable with the associated stats and revenue
    stream options.

If so then there is no substitute for the mainstream blogging providers
that are SE preferenced and optimized for blogging. Even SSI has tried http://santronics.blogspot.com

If you wanted to host on Wildcat then your best path would be:

    a) Create a new public web root VDG
    b) Create new sub-domain like: blog.yourdomain.com
    c) Use of one of the many PHP open source blogging products on top of Wildcat!

You could play around with publishing messages on the public side via
something like Hectors wcMailTopics, but that want deliver mainstream
    blogger functionality.

    Michael:
Thanks, I think I'll start looking at wcbasic since I have plenty of time.
