Title: Buttermilk Glaze

Yield: 1 Batch
1 c Granulated sugar
1 tb Corn starch
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 c Buttermilk; well-shaken
4 tb Unsalted butter
1 tb Light corn syrup
1 ts Vanilla extract
Stir together the sugar, corn starch, baking soda, buttermilk,
butter, and corn syrup in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over
medium-high heat, and cook until the glaze is thick and opaque, about
10 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat, stir in
vanilla and let stand until cooled to room temperature. The glaze
will thicken as it cools. Drizzle over the cooled cake.
