She's your kidlet - and children burn up calories very fast. Unless she's a Type I diabetic I'd stay away from the artificial sweeteners. I'm a
Type II (later onset) diabetic and I'm verrrrry careful which chemical sweeteners I put in my face. Bv)=

Here's a pancake recipe my young grand nieces and nephews disappear in
a hurry. Along with a recipe for "Aunt Pajams" panquake mix.

    Title: Blueberry-Orange Pancakes
    Categories: Breads, Dairy, Citrus, Fruits
    Yield: 9 pancakes

    1 c Almond milk greek yogurt *
    2 lg Eggs; whisked
    Zest of 2 oranges
    3 tb Orange juice
2 tb Maple syrup or sorghum

I'm not a fan of maple syrup and sorghum is getting hard to find around
here (unlike 70+ years ago when I wore a younger man's clothes and most
towns in central Illinois had their own sorghum processing facility, So,
I use honey if doing liquid sweetener. Or jams/jellies/preserves.

Aww, this sounds great, thank you. By sugar free I just meant we try
to sweeten it with fruit and not add a bunch of extra sugar. Agreed
about the artificial sweetners, we steer clear of those.

This sounds great though, I can't wait to give it a go!

I recently discovered a new (to me) apple called the "Cosmic Crisp".
It's certainly crisp and it's also pretty sweet without being overly
so. I bought some to use in a Copy Cat chicken salad I was making. It
was pretty good. And the apples are good "eating" apples. If I'd had
some of them to give to my teachers when I was in school I might have
been cut more slack if I got rowdy or rambunctious. Bv)=

Here's a recipe in which I used the cosmic crisp apples. It works as a
sandwich filling or plated on a lettuce leaf as a salad. Oh, and not
noted in the recipe - I've subbed craisins for the grapes.

Title: Arby's Grilled Chicken & Pecan Salad
    Categories: Poultry, Fruits, Nuts, Citrus
    Yield: 4 Servings

    1 c Diced red apple *
    1 tb Lemon juice
    2 1/2 c Grilled chicken breast;
    - diced 1/4" *
    1 c Halved grapes
    1/2 c Chopped celery
    1 c Chopped pecans
    1/2 c (to 3/4 c) mayonnaise
    Salt & pepper
    Lettuce leaves; opt
    Thick-sliced wheat bread;
    - opt

    * I used a "Cosmic Crisp" apple which worked nicely.
I have also used shredded rotisserie chicken. -- UDD

Place the diced apples in a medium-sized bowl. Add one
tablespoon of lemon juice and stir to coat the apples to
    prevent them from turning brown.

Add the chicken, grapes, celery, and pecans to the bowl
    and mix well.

Add 1/2 cup mayonnaise and stir to combine. If the
mixture is too dry you can add another 1/4 cup of
mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Allow the flavors to marry in a covered bowl in the
refrigerator for about 1 hour before serving.

If you would like to serve the chicken salad as a
sandwich, place about 1 cup of chicken salad and a few
lettuce leaves between two thick slices of wheat bread.

NOTES: While Arby's does not toast their pecans, you
could easily bring this salad to the next level by
toasting the pecans in a skillet on medium-high heat
until fragrant. Allow the pecans to cool completely
before adding them to the salad.
