I've been trying to get to bed before midnight, tho some nights I
don't get to sleep until 5 or 6 am. I've an alarm that goes off at 7:30
to take my asthma maintainence med but if possible, on those nights (mornings) I'll try to get a bit more sleep.

And some nights I don't try to go to bed before 5am, never before
    3am.

I, OTOH, start hearing the siren call of my pillows around 8 P.M. And I generally roll out about 4 A.M. According to what I've been reasding
that is "normal" for someone at my time of life. And my body requires
less sleep than when I wore a younger man's clothes.

Some good news: I am now able to walk the seven minute walk each
from my apartment to the bus stop I use to go to the VA. I

Good for you. I am at the stage where I wish I could walk seven
    minutes without my rollator.

I've been fighting getting something like that. I have a "walker" with
a basket on it from my medical kerfluffle(s) a couple months ago. But
I don't take it with when I leave home. If I am going to a store that
is less compact than Humphrey's Market I snag a cart (even if I'm only
getting a few things) and use it as a walker. I think it was you that
"pulled my coat" on that usage. Bv)=

Looks like you're doing well; a 7 minute walk is a good start. If your
VA is like the Durham one, you'll be walking a lot more once you get there. (G)

Our truck is in the shop right now but they gave us an F-150 SuperDuty
as a loaner. Can't pack it full of radio stuff but that means I can do
a huge Wegman's run if needs be. (G) Went over there on Saturday
intending on only picking up a couple of things but ended up with much more. Our shopping bags were at home so we bought another one (always useful) and the cashier packed it quite full. Only things she didn't
put in were the eggs (2 dozen) and a couple of loaves of bread.

We call that "it just jumped into the basket". We can go to the store (especially BJs) with a shopping list of four or five things, and come
out with $150 to $200 worth of stuff.

I have very little of that going on in my grocery runs. Hy-Vee's "Aisles On-Line" gives me the option of shopping on-line for staple items - and
I don't get tempted by the in aisle adverts and "shelf talkers". If I
get U$25 (minimum) in my cart they will pick it and bring it out to my
car at no extra charge. Tipping is discouraged - but I still tip on wet
    or otherwise miserable days. Bv)=

Fresh meat and produce is never a pert of my "Aisle On-Line" order as
I prefer to select that sort of thing my own self.

    3 tb Shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tb Crumbled real bacon pieces
    1/2 tb Butter; melted

Heat up a sandwich maker according to manufacturer’s
directions. (I used my George Foreman)

Spread jalapeno soft cheese on 1 slice of bread to
within 1/2". of edges. Top with chicken, Cheddar cheese,
bacon pieces and remaining slice of bread.

Lightly brush plates on sandwich maker for 1 sandwich
with melted butter using a silicone brush. Carefully
place the sandwich in the preheated sandwich maker.
Firmly close the lid and lock. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes
or until toasted. Cook for 15 to 30 seconds more for a
    toastier sandwich.

Remove sandwich with a silicone spatula. Cool slightly
    before serving.
