I wish there was a decent Greek restaurant near me. I have got the
Star 66 at the local truck stop where the owners are Macedonian and do Greek dishes occasionally. And Sweet Basil has a few Greek things on
their menu but mostly middle American restaurant fare. But no place I
can get some moussaka or avgolemono soup on a regular basis.

I believe that the one I mentioned would have those things. It is as
authentic a Greek restaurant as we have seen, and it is certainly
    frequented by Greek visitors.

There was once a Greek restaurant in Laurel MD that we went to and had a
very nice chicken dish. It was cooked with oregano plus lemon inside,
and probably other spices. The outside was nice and crispy skin, which
Gail likes. I don't know how long it had been there before we found it,
but the next time we went there six months later, it had been replaced
with some sort of sports bar. They still had the newspaper clipping on
the entry way which praised the Greek chicken that we went back there
for -- but of course they did not have it. That place lasted less than
six months before being replaced by an Indian restaurant.

I have to depend on St Anthony's Hellenic Orthodox Church's annual "Opa Festival" for my Greek food fix They regularly have souvlaki and gyros,
as well as Lahanodolmade (cabbage rolls) which are, I understand mostly
a colder months dish. And Greek desserts like baklava, melopita (honey
pie), loukomadies (Ddnuts) and melomakarona (honey cookies). I can wreck
any pretense of a diet and hurt myself on that weekend. Bv)=

Title: Kotopoulo Lemonato (Greek Lemon Chicken & Potatoes)
Categories: Poultry, Vegetables, Citrus, Cheese, Potatoes
    Yield: 4 servings

    1.1 kg (40 0z) chicken; in 8 pcs
    1 cl Garlic
    Juice of 3 medium lemons
    1 ts White wine vinegar
5 tb Extra virgin olive oil
    1 ts Peppercorns
    1 ts Pry oregano
    Freshly ground salt & pepper
100 g (4 oz) Feta cheese; in small
    - cubes
1 kg (35 oz) potatoes; in wedges

To prepare this Greek lemon chicken recipe, divide the
chicken into 8 portions and wash thoroughly. Peel the
garlic and rub on the chicken. Place on a large baking
tray and season well with salt and pepper.

Cut the potatoes into wedges and place them between the
chicken. Pour in some water, enough to cover half the
chicken and add the lemon juice, the white wine vinegar,
the olive oil, the chopped garlic and the peppercorns.
Season with salt and pepper and add a good pinch of
oregano. (Tip: sprinkle the potatoes with 1 tsp semolina
    for crispier results)

Cover with aluminum foil and bake @ 180ºC/350ºF for
60-75 minutes in total. 50 minutes into the bake remove
the aluminum foil and top the chicken with some feta
cheese. Bake for another 15-20 minutes (the remaining
time), until your Greek lemon chicken is nicely coloured
    and crispy on the outside.

This Greek lemon chicken is ideally served with a
refreshing Greek feta salad and lots of sourdough bread
aside to dig into all the delicious sauce!!
