So, who are the current in the last 25 years popular Hard Sci-fi writers?

I have not been able to read due to a medical condition, I have lost the last 25 years.

Now I can read a novel in 3-4 days and I am very glad for it.

I am only interested in Hard Science Fiction, no Fantasy.

    A few suggestions..

Ringworld - Larry Niven (1970) ..a little outside your date range.
    Pandora's Star - Peter F Hamilton (2005)
Revelation Space - Alistair Reynolds (2000)
The Martian - Andy Weir (2012)
Mars trilogy: Red Mars (1992), Green Mars (1993), and Blue Mars
    (1996) - Kim Stanley Robinson

Not sure where he falls on your Hard spectrum, but Neal Stephenson's
Seveneves was an entertaining read about how mankind recovers from an
    extinction-level event.
