    *Chuckle*

I was randomly searching for software, and I ran into TELMATE!!!

Who remember's THAT OS that was Radio Shack/Tandy specific??

I wonder if you could call THAT the 'first GUI for a IBM Compat'!

That program was 'awesome'! hehe... you had a calendar, phone book, a word processor, calculator....forgot, might have been a few more cool programs! Was it a fax program too??

You found it? If I may ask, is it available for download(where)? I

I have it at http://cmech.dynip.com/filebase.bbs/abanware/ (look for Tandy Deskmate ...)

    Thanks.

Deskmate v3 in 1988 introduce PC LINK, the final version of DESKMATE 3.04 in 1991 replace PC LINK with AOL.

Yeah now I remember! When they added AOL, I stopped using it. I did use PC link, and when I got to using my first DOS BBS Client, I think it was Telemate,
didn't have a need for Deskmate. Too bad it wasn't kept up, Who knows, it might
have ended up better than Windows back then

This is what DOSbox was made for. I have a version of DOSbox with WFW3.11 in it. Works great.

    Nice!

    You thinking of DeskMate?

It was a neat gui for it's time.

    - Ruben Figueroa - Prison Board BBS

    Deskmate is definitely cool.

I had a Tandy 1000TL in 1987 and it came with DOS 3.3 in ROM and an enhanced deskmate that took advantage of the TL's better-than-PCjr/Tandy graphics
modes, rendering the desktop in 640x200x16 (original DeskMate on a Tandy 1000 ran in 640x200x4). The TL also had a digital audio chip/sampler so the music app was pretty nice comparatively.

Over the Christmas holidays I picked up a Tandy 1000HX and have expanded it pretty fully and, of course, it came with DeskMate on one floppy. It's fun to play with. I've now got it installed on my "HD" which is a Lotek XT-IDE controller with CF card. Also added a dual serial port and an NEC V20 for 15-20% CPU speed improvement over the stock 8088-2 7.16MHz.

Here is a gallery, showing her evolution over the past few months. Pretty
much done with the upgrade now, happily. (That 384K PLUS RAM card was an expensive and elusive thing to track down.)

Once things settle down for me here, I have some serious additions for your collection. That's pretty impressive but I have a good stash of stuff hiding out somewhere around here that would be nice to add to
    that. :D

Sean, I'd love to hear about what you've got. I recently started driving a Tandy 1000HX and am always on the lookout for Tandy-specific programs.

Nice gallery. I found some Tandy 1000 on ebay but they are asking 300.00 for it. Still thinking about it. Nice improvements.

Yeah, I actually downloaded it about a month ago. Not sure what I can
    do with it now! lol!

I was rummaging around my boxes of 3.5 disk and guess what I found?
Deskmate. No sure if my old compaq that runs win95 will run it but I
will play with it some time today.

I started off with computer using my Trs-80 Color Computer 1, Coco 2 then the Trs-80 Color Computer three. The best thing I liked about the Color Computer that I was able to use Os9 Level 2 with a 20 MB harddrive. I still have all of Color Computers.
