    But I hear the 2nd film has vastly improved flying scenes due
    to more clever filming tech, and suspense.
    You might like to give it a try and see what story Maverick has
    to tell.

    What I have seen is complaints in the veteran groups that there are a lot of small details that they've gotten wrong, especially as far as uniforms/decorations are concerned.

    But the story is the most important part not the decorations. One film/performance that strips the environment to the bare essentials (almost literally) is Dogville (Nicole Kidman). Nothing in it physically exact or perfect. But it works.

    For me it goes about the suspension of disbelief. Anything that throws me out because of internal inconsistency, makes it extremely difficult for me to watch that movie.

    I normally find Task and Purpose pretty good with military related things so I take this review seriously.

    I'll probably get to see it at some stage then I'll decide for myself.
