If you use WinPoint, you might have the answer for me :)
Is there a way to "transfer" WinPoint from one PC to a new one without the setup routine?
Thinking about copy and paste kinda thing.
If not, where does WinPoint store the configuratio file?
Thanks for any advise.

Hmmm, Winpoint is not in my Echoarea management list. I requested a new one, but it does not show up. Do I have to contact the sysop of the Vertrauen BBS?
Sorry FOR "STUPID QUESTIONS", I am new to all this Fido stuff AND old (PUSHING 60 YEARS OF AGE).

While this was going on, Tim (the developer) posted a reply to
you in the WINPOINT echo *and* a copy to you in Netmail. Did
you get the netmail? If not, I can post the reply here if it
makes it easier for you! ;)

Simple:

1. Copy
1.1 program directory to the same location on the new computer (or use setup and enter some garbage)
1.2 copy the WinPoint data directory (default: %AppData%\WinPoint , can also be found by showing some folder from the Fidonet menu) to the %AppData% on the new machine.

2. use regedit.exe to export HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\New.Vision.Software\WinPoint and import it on the new machine

If in 1.2 the path for %APPDATA% has changed between the
machines (e.g., because of a different user name), just go
(after step 2) to the settings dialog and fix all entries in
the "directories" tab to point to the location from 1.2.

you. Winpoint should automatically create the area if you do
any areafix requests when adding or removing echos.

I contaced Rob Swindell (Boss of Vertrauen) and he added the Echo WinPoint.
Its already ion the Fidolist at the BBS. I requested a new list and added/removed
a few echos. Got to wait a little and see if the new Echo is added to my WinPoint EchoArea Manager.
As of Netmail, I have not received anything. I guess I have to contact Rob again.

But.. I'll netmail your a copy of Tim's message as well as repost it in THIS echo for your convenience.
