Reminds me of cats giving their owners "the stink-eye"...AKA "You
CAN'T be talking to me!!" <G>. I even saw a picture (obviously
Photoshopped), of the cat "flipping its owner off". <G>

Oh yeah, very true.. we see it here often. We have two dogs from the same litter, Sophie, the female is the obvious alpha. Indy, the male, gets the severe stink-eye (sometimes accompanied with "snarly curly lip") from Sophie every time he -thinks- to go near her food dish.

She is so much smaller than him, it is comical :) but he runs when she does that :) :) He looks like a yellow lab pretty much, she looks like ... hmm... I dunno! Maybe the face/head of a daschound, but taller... got me. Our vet pronounced them 'true american mutts' when we took them in for shots, etc. Meanwhile the rescue center we purchased them from called them "yellow lab mix pups" haha in their dreams maybe :)

    Take care,
    Janis

Before we moved to central Arkansas from south Florida over 41 years
ago, the older cat was fed on this table. Well, the younger upstart cat
didn't care for her food (even though it was the same as the older cats
food), and decided to jump up on that table, while the other one was
still there. I thought World War III was going to start right then, and
    there. <G>

Dachshunds are so sneaky, and such stinkers...in more ways than one. I
had gotten out of the shower, and hadn't gotten dressed yet. Next thing
I knew, it was <LICK!>. I screamed "Fritz!! You horny bastard!!". His response?? <WAG!> :P

Another time, I had just brought him back from a walk, and I heard
this whiff of air. I said "Fritz!! You didn't!!"....then, the stench of
an SBD fart got to my nose...and I said "You did!". His response??
    <WAG!> :P

So, the next time we went to the vet, I asked him "Why do dogs do
that??". When he replied "Well, he's a dog!!" (duh!)...and I said "Well,
he don't look like no d@mn cat, doc!!". To which, grinning, the vet
    replied "Correct. That'll be $250, please". :P

haha.. :) Exactly the right wording for that from what I remember :)

Meanwhile, my daughter and her boys now own a dog. She's a really cute dog.. not a full-bred - she's all white with slight splotches of light color here and there.. and goblin ears (her terms haha). She's suspected to be part Whippet.. such a good natured girl :)

    Hi, Janis...

Well, there are 2 reasons for that.

First, I saw a drama group perform "Of Mice And Men", by John
Steinbeck, at the University Of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida, 45
years ago, at a theatre arts festival. In the scene near the end, where
Lenny is "shot" in the back of the head by the other character (I forget
his name), the acting was so good that it stunned the entire theatre.

Second, several of the Looney Tunes (Warner Brothers) and some of the
Tex Avery cartoons had "Lenny" (I think he was the mentally challenged character) as part of skits. One of the Looney Tunes had it with "The Abominable Snowman" with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. The Tex Avery one
had a deal with "Screwy Squirrel" (a new little friend). :P

Meanwhile, my daughter and her boys now own a dog. She's a really cute dog..
not a full-bred - she's all white with slight splotches of light color here JK>there.. and goblin ears (her terms haha). She's suspected to be part Whippe
such a good natured girl :)

Whippets are also known as "minature greyhounds". They are hard to
housebreak and are high strung (just like dachshunds). Unlike the
dachshund, the whippet seldom barks. But, both make excellent watchdogs,
and are very loyal to their owners.

We had a male that we gave to greyhound breeders in Harrison in
northwest Arkansas several years ago. They had brought a bitch down, so
they could get acquainted. Well, the dog we had, named Bullet, tried to
make love to this bitch, and she told him (in so many words) that she
wasn't interested in his advances. <G> But, he seemed so sexually
frustrated that "he wanted to whip-it out". :P
