From Maurice Kinal@1:153/7001 to Nancy Backus on Sun Jan 12 08:20:19 2020
    Hey Nancy!

I added one more condition to the cybertoast tagline generator where only if the 'days from now' is less or equal to 365 days then it gets outputted to the list. Therefore when the 2020-02-29 cybertoast becomes 2024-02-29 on May 1st it will drop off the radar never to be seen until 2023-03-01 rolls around. I think that is a better outcome than outputting a cybertoast date that is more than a year from 'now'.

    Life is good,
    Maurice

    ... Cybertoasts of note:
2020-02-29 is 48 days from now and falls on a Saturday.
2020-11-05 is 298 days from now and falls on a Thursday.
2021-01-01 is 355 days from now and falls on a Friday.

    Hey Nancy!

    You mean Mar 1st, yes....?

Yes I did. Thank you for the correction and I just checked to make sure the tagline generator will get it right as well (it is/was getting it right).

This will also affect the 11-05 toasts...

It would have given the 10 year span between.

just as well we're going to do them yearly now, too... <G>

Also the fact that I am not getting any younger and there may not be that many more decades left for me. Annual ones make more sense now that I am no longer 30 years old.

Raging against the storm. Speaking of storms, we got a blast of winter last week with a couple days of snow that is now mostly melted and has turned to the usual rain.

After a certain point, it's good to celebrate them all...

We'll try that on for size. On 2020-11-06 it should change to 2021-11-05 as well as drop to the bottom of the list making 2021-01-01 the top entry ... until 2021-01-02 that is.

    Says who?

    We got snow last weekend

Ours has melted and has been replaced with huge puddles of water that doesn't appear to be in a rush to go anywhere. Also the rain that has been falling almost continuous ever since hasn't helped any. On the plus side at least it's warm.

More than I can say for here... ;) The warm, that is... We've been
having rain mixed with very fine snow... not a lot of accumulation, but
temps are staying around freezing or going a bit more below or once in a

and might give a foot or more of snow

Ouch. We were supposed to get some over the last couple of days but we got, and are getting, more rain instead. I'd sooner have the rain rather than snow but it would be nice to get none of either for a change. There is a good chance for sunshine this weekend but a tad on the cool side with lows just slightly above freezing.

Same situation here except with rain. The ground is still super saturated so even a little bit will cause molre grief than it normally would at this stage of the game.

As long as you were spared...

Not totally but nowhere near as bad as others in the general area. In some parts there have been people and their vehicles ended up being drowned after being swept away by some raging stream that has broken it's banks. One guy got swept off a bridge while he was observing the raging stream from above. Last I heard they still haven't recovered his body.

Today was sunny for the mostpart with no rain. Tomorrow and Saturday are forcast for at least some periods of rain. Hopefully we get a miss on any of that but I have my doubts.

I can understand that... Here, the ground is somewhat frozen, so when
there's a thaw of snow, or rain, there's also nowhere for the water to
    go.... causing some grief....

That's sad... and rather scary as well... Good reasons to stay clear of

We've had mostly clouds with some sun coming through from time to
time... only a little bit of snow.... But it did get mighty cold on
Thursday night and Friday.... we were down to almost 0 degrees F (-17 C
or thereabouts) Friday night... It was about 5 degrees (-15C) the night before.... but then it warmed back up to about freezing for Saturday and
    maybe about 4C (40F) today.... :)
