    Hallo All!

Just checking this point's datetime stamp so that it no longer uses localtime, which is UTC on all the machines.

If your localtime when posting this message was 14:57 it worked! ;)

    Bye, Wilfred.

Nope, it would have been 22:57 which is right. It did the proper adjustment at this end.

If this works for you then I'll leave the flags as is ... for now. :::evil grin:::

    Hallo Wilfred!

I'm talking about localtime not UTC, but you knew that. ;)

    Which is the same thing here. /etc/localtime = /usr/share/zoneinfo/UTC. Also;

    -={ '<Esc>:read !date' }=-
    Wed 18 Nov 2020 03:29:48 PM UTC

Note the UTC at the end of the localtime date string. hwclock shows "2020-11-18 15:34:08.481082+00:00" as we speak. Everything that matters is UTC as it should be. I made the adjustment for the msg header's datetime stamp and the TZUTC flag in the code but am thinking of a per user setup configuration set to whatever the user's localtime is instead of the system's localtime. As you can plainly see they are different.

Anyhow this is the best this can possibly be all things considered. I plan to continue ignoring the TZUTC and CHRS flags but I can assure you that the ones you see are indeed accurate albiet useless for any meaningful deployment.

That you set your local time to UTC, doesn't make it the real world localtime where your equipment is located. Men you are stuborn. :-/

    Hey Wilfred!

That you set your local time to UTC, doesn't make it the real
world localtime where your equipment is located.

It seems easy enough to adjust when needed. Here is another single user setup doing the exact same thing from a different machine.

    Men you are stuborn. :-/

I can be, especially when I am right. :-)

Yes and no. I am just unsure of where on the scale of craziness I happen to be. Mind you some days are better than others. Lately I've been convinced that the whole world has gone insane. How else can you explain recent events?
