    Hi all,

usually I use mcc to update installed packages.

    Installed is:

    $ uname -a
    Linux linuxnb1 6.6.18-desktop-1.mga9 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Sat Feb 24 00:23:52 UTC 2024 i686 GNU/Linux

When I do a manual mgaapplet-update-checker, then I get something like
    this:

Perhaps load mcc and looked at Configure media sources for
    install and update ?

And then go to /etc/urpmi and look at the contents of
    configuration files there ?

I speculate urpmi has instructions to look at a media
source in one place and in another has no instruction
to use or update the files listed for it.

Should cause no harm to just leave it as is.

    Cheers!

The last several indicate that that kernels would be installed, rather
than updated. Mageia does not remove old kernels when updating to new
ones, as it does with "normal" updates. This is so the user can still
boot into one of those older kernels should the new one fail.

Older kernels must be removed manually, or with the Remove Old Kernels app.

The messages you quote are normal, and can be ignored.

This will shock you: "remove-old-kernels" is the package name. It's new
for Mageia 9. Be sure to RTFM. (man rok)

The default is to remove all but the last three kernels of each flavor (desktop, server, linus), but can be customized. The default is to run
weekly, but it can be run manually, as well.
