Need some help with boinc permission problems please.
systemctl status boincmgr.service gives
gstate.init() failed with error -192. Google thinks this means "unable
to write to client_state.xml file"
BUT: boinc user exists, and I (graeme) am a member of boinc group
# cd /var/lib
[root@haydn lib]# ls -l|grep boinc
drwxr-xr-x 5 boinc graeme 4096 Mar 23 14:25 boinc/
# cd boinc
# ls -l
-rw-rw---- 1 boinc graeme 3360 Feb 24 18:59 account_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml
-rw-rw---- 1 boinc graeme 926 Mar 12 11:59 account_milkyway.cs.rpi.edu_milkyway.xml
-rw-rw---- 1 boinc graeme 55853 Feb 28 09:48 all_projects_list.xml
-rw-r--r-- 1 boinc boinc 286697 Mar 23 14:21 client_state_prev.xml
-rw-rw-r-- 1 boinc graeme 286697 Mar 23 14:25 client_state.xml
-rw-r--r-- 1 boinc boinc 3179 Mar 23 14:25 coproc_info.xml
Furthermore, if I su to boinc:
cd /var/lib/boinc
-bash-5.1$ ls -l
drw-rw---- 6 boinc graeme 4096 Mar 12 11:50 slots/
cd slots
-bash: cd: slots: Permission denied
-bash-5.1$
boincmgr is now running if started as root
