    I have no number lock after boot

    I have set number lock on in settings > keyboard

    I have also checked keyboard >> advanced > numeric keypad always enters
    digits

    And I have /etc/sddm.cong

    InputMethod=

    [Users]
    HideShells=/sbin/nologin,/bin/false,/usr/sbin/nologin,/bin/true HideUsers=mysql,apache,mldonkey
    Numlock=on
    RememberLastSession=false
    RememberLastUser=true

    They are the three setting I know of
    And still no number lock

    regards

    I have not messed with any of the above, but I did install the
    numlock rpm, and enabled the numlock service.

    Have you tried the BIOS settings??

    Bit Twister's suggestions sound good. I have
    one older desktop replacement where the numlock is not
    working and I wish I had read what he said before I
    shut it down for the night.
    Cool running.
    bliss - already up too late.

    Didn't know there was one in the Bios. Them number lock comes on during
    bios but goes off after the kernel gets running

    It sounds like a paper chase, Bits. I have three settings that don't
    work and numlock is a SERVICE!!??

    I may have to give them a try. Thanks Bits

    Yeah, seen that also.

    I also found a
    numlock on
    in my .bashrc file.

    And speaking of x I use xterm as my terminal emulator.

    OK Numlock is a bios setting and it is on

    So number lock requires at least four individual settings and it doesn't
    work.

    The title of the setting is "numlock." There is usually a command
    "numlock on" as Bits found. I would try adding it to .bashrc or
    somewhere in the X11 config file. We always talk of X as the video
    system, but the config file covers other things, such as keyboard, as well.

    On my system, I couldn't find the numlock setting anywhere, yet it was
    set. It was in the Gigabyte BIOS, under "System," near the top. The
    setting is a toggle.
