    Onderwerp: [council] IRC change

Thanks to freenode either intentionally or by incompetence deleting all
    Mageia
channels and everyone's identities, the Mageia move to libera has been accelerated.

Instead of using chat.freenode.net we will now be using irc.libera.chat.

The Mageia channels including #mageia-qa have been registered there.

https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/IRC/Instructions is a good site for the instructions
    to register your nickname etc.

Future qa team irc meetings will be held in the #mageia-qa channel on
the irc.libera.chat server starting this Thursday.

Please ensure you register your nicknames on the libera irc server.

    Regards, Dave Hodgins

Hmm!! Interesting! I use SeaMonkey Suite for all my UseNet/Web work.

The Developers at SeaMonkey-Project used to have their irc channel on
freenode ..... and have just *HAD* to move their IRC as well ... and
have ended up on irc.libera.chat, as well!

Have your search-engine-of-choice look for "freenode takeover" and you
will see many links that will be glad to explain the situation.

Anyone who has previously registered at freenode should ensure they do not re-use
the same password anywhere else. We have no idea what the new owner will do with
the user database. It's strongly advisable to always make sure each site uses a different password, but now is a good time to make sure that's the case.
