I have a Netcomm router

The router has a USB socket and my mind drifted to the possibility of attaching an external HD for backup.

Some Google searching does unearth Windows and MAC setups but they seem
to be SAMBA based

Do I need to install Samba to get anywhere with Linux setup?

The router supports ext 2/3. I am using ext4 - another problem?
