• xdg-settings error message in Chromium re Zoom

From William Unruh@2:250/1 to All on Sat Dec 26 22:53:30 2020
I am getting the following error message when I try to log in via zoom
    on Chromium
xdg-settings: default-url-scheme-handler not implemented for xfce
    in a little window.
If I click OK, the message in another window saying

    Open xdg-open?
https://us02web.zoom.us wants to open this application.
and if I click on Open xdg-open,then zoom opens and I have to then
join the meeting anyway.Ie, it does not remember the meeting I was
trying to open or the password.

    Mageia 7 updated, Chromium updated.

    Something like this ?

"Index Desktop Web-Links Open In Xed

xdg-settings: default-url-scheme-handler not implemented for xfce"

    https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=12353

I can't test that my self easily as I do not use zoom and do not currently have
    any xfce only installs.

Is chromium set as the default browser in xfce4-settings-manager/Preferred Applications/Web Browser?

What's the output (as regular user) of

    xdg-settings get default-url-scheme-handler https
    xdg-settings get default-url-scheme-handler http

If xfce is running, then it should be in the menu entry under Settings, called DesktopSettings (selecting that icon runs the program xfce4-settings-manager).

Whether xfce is the current gui or not, the program xfce4-settings-manager may be run from the command line of any terminal program.

Once the settings manager is running select the icon for Preferred Applications,
then the drop down menu for the web browser and ensure chromium is selected.

Hopefully selecting chromium as the default web browser will fix that. Check it
again after setting the preferred web browser.
