• Trump is ok with Russian bounties on US troops

Apparently he was briefed in March.

But...big daddy Putin needs pleasin' so he's
ok with the Russians paying bounties for American
heads in Afghanistan. I'm sure Lee Lofaso is ok
    with that, too.

Trump is pro-military. If the story is true, then he will make Russia pay.

    Hello Aaron,

Lee's on your side; he's an ex-military Democrat. You can call him General
    Lee, he probably won't mind.

The General Lee was the finest car I ever had. Until the Dukes
of Hazzard got hold of it. Next time I saw it was some twenty plus
years later when the Duke boys (and Daisy) took a trip in it to
    a small town in Louisiana.

Trump is pro-military. If the story is true, then he will make Russia pay.

Really? What is he going to have Russia pay with? Rubles that
can only be spent in Russia? Hillary Clinton was right. Trump is
Putin's puppet. The man got his money to run his empire from
Russian mobsters. What this is all about is payback. Russians
are collecting what is owed to them by their client.

It is going to be fun auditing his tax records. Loads of fun.
Unfortunately, we still have to wait another six months before
    getting started.

Presidential hopeful Joe Biden said reports about the orange menace
(Trump) knowing about the Russian bounties and choosing to do nothing
would be a "truly shocking revelation" about the C-in-C's failure
to protect US troops in Afghanistan, along with his failure to stand
    up to Russia.

What is Trump going to do now? Call the NYT's article "fake news"?

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), No. 3 Republican in the House, called
on the White House to give the Congress more information on the
subject, saying lawmakers need to know "Who did know and when?"
    - and also referred to Vladimir Putin, "What has been done in
response to protect our forces & hold Putin accountable?"

Imagine that. The daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney calling
Donald Trump out, making her daddy proud!

Donald Trump is feigning ignorance, claiming he did not know.
Claims he was never briefed on this by his own intelligence, or
by anybody else. Nixonian "I am not a crook!" kind of guy.

The intelligence assessments were given to Trump in February.
Part of his daily briefings. John Bolton claims he was verbally
briefed on this in 2019, but could not comment or write about
it in his book due to national security concerns.

Russia called the report "nonsense" -

"This unsophisticated plant clearly illustrates the low intellectual
abilities of the propagandists of American intelligence, who instead
of inventing something more plausible have to make up this nonsense."
    ~ Russian Foreign Ministry

Taliban militants also "strongly reject this allegation" and are
not "indebted to the beneficence of any organ or foreign country."

Speaker Nancy Pelosi told ABC's "This Week" that she had not been
informed about the bounties and has requested the White House give
a report to Congress on the matter.

"This is as bad as it gets, and yet the president will not confront
the Russians on this score, denies being briefed. Whether he is or not,
his administration knows and our allies -- some of our allies who work
with us in Afghanistan had been briefed accept this report."
    ~ Nancy Pelosi

Keep in mind that the daily briefings on this matter were given to
Donald Trump in February. As well as to others, such as Chuck Schumer,
and Nancy Pelosi, and the list goes on. Embarrassing. Everybody knew
about this and kept quiet. Why? These daily briefings are 50-60 pages,
and no politician has the time to read them each and every day. That
    is what aides are for.

No. Trump is anti-military. He'll roll over like a dog

His tax records won't take any longer than Obama's birth certificate took.

Presidential hopeful Joe Biden said reports about the orange menace

I will congratulate Joe Biden if Trump is proven guilty of having prior knowledge to the Russian bounties and not doing something about it, because that is the only leverage that sleazy Joe could dream to have in this
    election.

The intelligence assessments were given to Trump in February.

If that's the case, then who's to say that the president and/or others aren't already doing things to stop it, without announcing it?

Let's hope Nancy clears everything up for all of us.

I like Trump, but I don't really care if he wins or not. At this point, I've had a lousy time in NY thanks to the insane state government that we've got here, so I need to stay focused on those elections.

People from both parties can cause damage sometimes. I've got lazy
republicans and extremist democrats to contend with. America has a right to
be divided. You can't blame Trump for it. We were divided on these topics way before he came along.

How can one possibly think that this clown is a good president?

From the first day he behaved like a kid. He created the term "Altenative Facts" when he (and his staff) were caught lying.

Yes, he creates an entertaining reality show, but the damage he causes
hits the actual reality not a television version.

The real problem I see in the US (and increasingly in Europe) is what you said in your last paragraph: extremists. You can either vote for some dumb figure proposing easy solutions for complex matters. This certainly
impresses the toothless racist chimps watching NASCAR races while
polishing their rifles. Or you vote for those, that these people call "snowflakes" trying to introduce a world where success is a matter of application and everyone will have to become as equal as forcively
    possible.

Both worlds are a nightmare to me. The most favorable system can be found
in between as we used to have in Germany and France before. Introducing a social system where the state provides everything that everybody needs
(food, water, housing, health care, education) if necessary.
But on the other hand leaves control over the rest of your life and your success to you. No fear, no forced equality, but equal *chances*.

Democrats own the media. The only explanation for all the negative media coverage of Trump is that the media seeks to elect a Democrat this year.

You say that with such ferver. Almost a religion.

I'm delighted the left is tearing itself apart. I have high hopes we get the house back in November. A number of congressman on the D side should be arrested. Unfortunately, it may take too long to peel back the onion skin layers

Anyway, like the russian collusion hoax (now being exposed as the conspiracy

It depends on what you call "good." If you scroll back, conservatives have posted lengthy lists of things Trump's administration has done for our
economy. But instead of being grateful, you're taking 2 knees for Anderson Cooper.

Not our media. And certainly not the public media. Usually you do not

What's public media? Each news network is either left or right; none are neutral. Are you talking about publicly broadcast media like CBS/NBC/etc?

Do you derive this from his 2-word-phrases like "America First"? The
only thing that was "good for the economy" was money on loan that
boosted stocks - most likely those he and his family hold.

It depends on what you call "good." If you scroll back, conservatives have posted lengthy lists of things Trump's administration has done for our economy. But instead of being grateful, you're taking 2 knees for Anderson Cooper.

If you reduce it to boost stocks by taking loans which means on the longer run reducing purchasing power in general, then yes you could make a few republicans happy for a couple of months or years.
But as the great Henry Ford taught us: the even larger part of a working economy, the one that made America so successful is, that people were able
to afford the cars they produced. Trump ignored it resp. possesses no knowledge of such things with so many letters, but yet enough shrewdness
    like his voters.
That's his talent, make stupid people vote for him for things that
influence their lives to the worse. No health insurance, less stability,
less accessible education (best thing for a Trump).
Again: easy false messages that are pleasant ("...builduh graaate wooool
    and make Magsiko pay forrid...").
And now? 2 billion spent on that thing. No cent paid by Mexico. Illegal immigration on the highest levels since recording.
But the hillbillies don't just not care - they do not believe this obvious fact.
    Trump's second weapon.

Not our media. And certainly not the public media. Usually you do not
get to work in the media when believing "alternative facts"

What's public media? Each news network is either left or right; none are neutral. Are you talking about publicly broadcast media like CBS/NBC/etc?

Luckily I consume media from many different countries and I work with data
in a business environment. So I can understand facts that are more complex than "Great thing! Will make Uhmuhrica great again."
Public media are those that are not run by private companies. In Germany
the constitution guarantees that such media exist and must not be
influenced by politics. Not perfect, but that makes them a reliable, since verifiable source of information (not opinion).
Their coverage was just as distant and neutral regarding Trump as it was regarding Obama. Even when he started with his very first lie - just as
many people had been there at his inauguration as at Obama's - they just quoted him and showed the recording that it was simply a stupid lie.
But truly, the democrats have infiltrated the German media to produce fake news, right?

They all chose sides too. Telemundo even choses sides - and they are the fakest of all. They have illegal immigrants to appeal to - so it wouldn't help them much if they said anything good about Trump.
The German, French, Brazilian, African or Australian media have no benefit from talking bad about Trump. Yet they do, because that clown keeps saying and doing stupid stuff.
Simple minded people only see the foreground messages he tweets - and
believe them. I am asking myself how much of his school time someone has
to spend asleep to fall for that.

The only explanation for the negative media all over the world is, that BT>> Trump is simply an idiot.

Who's the idiot? The president, or thousands of people who live their lives in negativity because of the things he said?
    Both.

If you hate Trump, be glad about term limits. It's just a phase. We'll all
be sucking up to China & Iran again some day, just be patient & have your money ready.

Term limits are in fact a very good thing for the USA. I am not so fond of Biden either and wasn't of Hillary... yet, what this country, that still
has my sympathy, needs now is someone reliable and smart. Trump is
    neither.

You're the one throwing vitriol and seething hate and I called you out on

Let me level with you. You obviously hate Trump and that's fine. Regardless of how often the legacy press is exposed for lies and rage reporting, they'll always exist as long as their audience (you) believes every story
explicitly. Your hatred for Trump is all they need and they're laughing all the

No. What we have seen, and continue to see, are conservative
lies and appropriations of continuations of the previous
    administration's accomplishments.

To the extent you sorry lot ever talk about original
accomplishments on Trump's part, it's things like building

Funny. I remember during the Obama administration the vitriol
    directed towards him.

And it's still going on. Even now that Trump's been in power
for almost 4 years, the anger and hatred directed towards the

Just because a story is published in the Failing New York Times does mean
    it's true.

The rumor is an Afghan drug smuggler did the deal. Then he left
the area for Mother Russia, where he remains in hiding. The value
of roubles is not much, around $140 for 10,000 of them.

Taliban warlords are not stupid. No way they are going to let
a two-bit drug smuggler swindle them out of a good deal. Remember,
Taliban live in caves, not mansions. And have no need for roubles.
Or dollars, for that matter. They do love poppies, though.

So please. Do not believe everything the NYT tells you. Their
reporters are far too gullible and will fall for anything.

The U.S Military could crush any other on the Planet, including any from the
    Russians.

The US invaded Afghanistan in 2001, sending its mighty US military
machine against the primitive Taliban tribesmen. Those same primitive
Taliban tribesmen are still there, in control of more than half of
the country, with a puppet government installed by the US being in
control of one city, the rest of the country being nothing more than uninhabitable terrain.

The US also invaded Iraq, which accomplished nothing. The US remains
in Iraq, with the ayatollahs in Iran now pulling the strings rather
    than Saddam Hussein.

Also, as a result of the US invasion of Iraq came the creation of
ISIS. This has left Russia and Turkey in charge of Syria, rather than
Syria's own bloody dictator. Not really sure if that is an improvement
or a disaster. Either way, the people of Syria are screwed.

If you want peace, work for justice. Making war is not, and never

Correct, but why is that, it could because of their seething hatred of Trump that blinds them from the truth or worse yet they write whatever they want knowing in advance that what they wrote is false but write it anyway in hopes that dumb liberals use it as fact. The liberal media fish at the same pond called The New York Times. As soon as a story drops they rush to circulate it. Hello Greg,

    Ok, racist.

You think calling me names of something I am not bothers me?
    No.

We are all racists and bigots. What we do to overcome our own
racism and bigotry, as individuals and a society, is up to us.

I am not the first to say this. Others have also said the same
thing. In basically the same words, or words to that effect.

Andrew Young, who grew up in New Orleans, went on to become
US ambassador to the United Nations, and served as mayor of Atlanta,
Georgia. As a child, he was told he could no longer play with his
neighbor, who was white. For no other reason than his neighbor was
    white.

He was right about what he said about racism and bigotry. And so
is everybody else who are saying the same thing.

The owner of the Washington Redskins has finally come to his
senses, deciding to change the name of his football team.

The owner of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans
has also come to her senses, deciding to change the name of her
    beloved Dixie Beer.

We should all kneel and pray that others do the same. The owner
of the Cleveland Indians needs to make a name change. The owner of
the Atlanta Braves needs to make a name change. The owner of the
Kansas City Chiefs needs to make a name change. They all know the
    drill.

Singing the Black National Anthem at football games is not enough.
Liberty and Justice belong to all, not just for a select few.

I'm not knocking down the doors at the local department store to steal.
I'm not doing any of those things and wont be drinking hot chocolate and coloring with Crayola Crayons the day after the election to help me cope either.
