anyways, rittenhouse's mom is an idiot and put him at risk by taking him to that bar in racine.

Actually one of the two shot dead was using a skateboard as a weapon, they meant to do him bodily harm or kill him, the survivor had a loaded pistol aimed at Kyles head.
I can't feel sorry for any of the three cowards that were attaking Kyle.

I have read jurisprudence from the US that suggests that if you are outnumbered 3 to 1, you may as well use an RPG-7 to defend yourself, since 3 people stomping on somebody's face is classified as a significant risk for life and bodily integrity.

Compare this to Spain, in which a guy got kidnapped by a gang, and got convicted for assault because he splashed a kidnapper with the oil from a frying pan. Funny enough he stabbed another dude 6 times and he got partial self-defense from that, but full charge for the oil splashing.

The good thing is that the trial has a fair judge. One that actually upholds the law - unlike Leftie judges who just ignore laws they don't like.

hopefully he will be found not guilty,

The Prosecution's star witness already admitted on the stand that Kyle acted in self-defence. So the case is pretty much done. He may get convicted on minor offences, though.

kenosha is a bunch of chicken shit liberals and their govt is the same.
that auto dealership did ask that group for help. there's txt msgs regarding it. they are arabs or pakis and they dont want to get into legal trouble. they probably have several illegal businesses.

the funny thing is about that is that guy's cars were burned to the ground. you cant even identify some of them. the insurance company refused to show up during that time period to inspect the cars. kenosha gave that business a warning a few days later that its an eye sore and to get those cars out of that lot or be fined several hundred per day. kenosha doesnt care about their residents or their businesses.

with jacob blake that dude had a weapon and refused to comply with the police. they awarded that dude a lot because they didnt want more riots.

LOL - I was won over by the prosecution today. They did a great job at not lying...

And shown some new evidence about Rosenbaum not touching Kyle on the first shot - IMO kinda changes everything...

    1. There were many people there with guns to help protect businesses from being looted then burnt to the ground.

2.The rioters were taunting the people with guns that were protecting businesses and putting out dumpster fires.

3.He wasn't going there to kill anyone, the rioters were there to kill and destroy.

4.Plenty of video that shows Kyle running from the rioters, BTW these Rioters were trying to take his gun, and they were assaulting Kyle, One of the 3 shot is a convicted child molester, another was a domestic abuser, Kyle only shot when threatened.

No, the prosecution video was a horribly low grade video and was not clear at all.

The one I was speaking of wasn't prosecution video, per say; it was the on the ground shot of the shooting - and the angles they displayed during closing showed that they were [about] 4 feet apart - and that no one touched the gun barrel, nor could have, at the first shooting.

I just was pointing out that the outline and story the defense was hanging their hats on the whole time wasn't an absolute truth. And, that the prosecution did a better job at closing than the defense. As stated, it wasn't even close.

I'm still on the defense' side, but they certainly lost YESTERDAYs cl arguments and the prosecution did point out lies that I'd been not pa attention to.

No, I've watched every minute of the trail from start thru today. Every video, statement and everything in between.

The defenses closing argument was weak, less impactful than the defenses and not only could anyone see that - but the lawyer had it written all over his face, too.

I hope that the jurors get it right, but think that the defense dropped the ball at the end of the game.

I know the shot you're talking about, in the video he was trying to grab the rifle, then Kyle turned and shot him, the still was from that video and thats when the guy that got shot backed off a bit before he died, that's what a clever dishonest prosecuter does is takes a still frame from a video that appears to bolster his case.

apparently there's an issue with the laws there because they threw out the charge.

"Judge Bruce Schroeder ruled Wisconsin's open carry law is so confusingly written it can be interpreted to mean 17-year-olds can openly carry firearms as long as they're not short-barrel rifles. He believed the jury could only convict if prosecutors proved the barrel of Rittenhouse's rifle was less than 16 inches and has an overall length shorter than 26 inches."

"Rittenhouse's defense team, however, successfully argued that there was a loophole in the law that says the misdemeanor only applies to 17-year-olds carrying short-barrel rifles. Carrying a short-barrel rifle at any age in Wisconsin is a felony, with exceptions for active military and police officers."

also they say the ar15 was illegally purchased for him. the one guy could have bought it to gift to him later. and it wasnt illegal for kyle to carry it apparently.

They threw allot of crap on the wall to see what would stick, they way overcharged him, and the prosecuter picked up Kyle's gun and pointed it at people in the courtroom with his finger clearly on the trigger, look what happened when Alec Baldwin pointed what he thought was an empty gun on the set of Rust.

apparently there's an issue with the laws there because they threw out the charge.

Yes the issue there was barrel length, if the barrel had been under a certain length it would have been ileagal.

    it's more than that.

"Under Wisconsin law, anyone under 18 who possesses a dangerous weapon is guilty of a misdemeanor, unless they fall under an exception, such as for hunting, military service or target practice.

For months, Rittenhouse's attorneys have pointed to one of those exceptions - one that is confusingly worded - that they argued allows 16- and 17-year-olds to carry rifles and shotguns as long as they are not unlawfully short-barreled.

    "

They threw allot of crap on the wall to see what would stick, they way overcharged him, and the prosecuter picked up Kyle's gun and pointed it at

in wisconsin they always overcharge someone and dismiss most of the charges. that's how they do it in the courts here.
even if they charges are applicable.

    > overcharged him, and the prosecuter picked up Kyle's gun and pointed it at
people in the courtroom with his finger clearly on the trigger, look what

they say he was pointing above their heads, but still, that's not proper gun safety.

this guy is a clown prosecuter like most of them in this region.

The gun was paid for by Kyle, but his friend was still legal owner of it. kind of a shadey area legally I guess.

i'm sure it happens all the time. and there is a loophole. especially if you are hunting.

this article has some interesting info, especially regarding the car place they defended. the owners are now denying any involvement but they certainly did want them there defending the lot. they showed them how to get inside and showed them a ladder they could use to get on the roof.

To be honest, the fact there is media coverage of the trial itself is disturbing.

When such a thing has been done in Spain, you get the trial debated and commented in reality shows and other hellish holes of intelectual doom. By
the time the trial is reaching its end, the public already has a veredict because the public has been carrying out their own (usually missinformed) parallel court.

Also, media may be powerful enough to sway the jury one way or another.

Or they wanted the Bad Orange Man gone. In Portland, the mayor didn't do much and even attended some riot events. Right after the election, he started complaining about Antifa being in his city.

yeah i heard them on the radio. they were trying to blame it all on trump.
stay out of our city, trump!

I don't think it will burn hard since there is no longer a need to dethrone Trump :-P

Indeed. There will be some unrest, I am sure, but not like anything we'd have seen if Trump (or any Republican) was President.

Still it is sad to think a court process may be held hostage by the threat of riots.

Very much so. Also sad to think that a member of the US media, supposedly under the command of another member (their supervisor), would be harrassing jurors, but I guess that shows how low our media has fallen.

the media needs to be reigned in.
what they are doing is very wrong and they know it.

Yup. They should move out of the city. I'm sure that the surrounding communitites would love to get more tax dollars from more business.

The only problem here is that when that happens, the cities cry to the State and Fed (cough, cough, Flint, Michigan) to get the money that they used to get.

"he burned Car Source car lot on Sheridan Road has become one of the most visible symbols of the destruction caused by two days of rioting in Kenosha following the shooting of Jacob Blake by a Kenosha Police officer on Aug. 23.

With rows of burned vehicles, the lot on the northeast corner of Sheridan Road at 59th Street even began to attract disaster tourism, with people crossing caution tape to take photos among the wreckage.

"It doesn't matter that the tape is up, they just walk in," said Anmol Khindri, co-owner of the business. "They bring their nice, fancy cars and their fancy bikes and take pictures."

For Khindri, the destruction of his business has created a financial nightmare, a situation made more complicated as the city has demanded he clean up the cars on the burned lot.

"The city just gave me a notice that we have to clean up the lot within a week, which is not possible," Khindri said. "There is no way possible I can wrap it up in a week."

Khindri said his insurance company initially denied coverage of the damage and fires, saying his insurance did not cover riot damage. Now, he said, he is working with a lawyer who is trying to negotiate with the insurance company.

    People are also reading.
While those negotiations are ongoing, he said, the insurance company does not want the burned cars moved.

"If something does go through, the adjuster is going to come ... to look at the cars," Khindri said. "Another problem is the VIN (vehicle identification number), you can't even read them because they burned. And, the records and the legal paperwork burned."

City Administrator John Morrissey confirmed the city sent Car Source an order to clean up the lot. It was one of a series of raze orders sent to owners of buildings destroyed by fire during the unrest.

Morrissey said the city is trying to work with property owners to get properties cleaned up and destroyed buildings razed. He added that ultimately, as with any building destroyed in a fire, the property owner is responsible for cleanup.

For Khindri, who estimates he has $2.5 million in damages, the cleanup notice is the latest in a series of disasters that have been beyond his control. And he believes the city is in part responsible because they did not control protests that flashed into rioting.

"The problem is it (the lot) does look bad, but (the city) let it all happen. They don't want to admit it," Khindri said.

"What about me? I lost millions of dollars," Khindri added. "It's easy for them to write me a ticket over something I have nothing to do with."

Owner could be billed for removal
Morrissey said a representative of Car Source contacted the city this week to explain its insurance issues. The company asked for four to eight weeks to clean up the lot.

"We're going to work with him, but I don't think another month or two is reasonable to get it cleaned up," Morrissey explained.

The administrator said the city has contacted a company that can remove the burned cars from the lot and may ultimately contract hire it to do the cleanup if the owners do not. Those costs would be charged back to the property owner.

"He didn't do this," Morrissey said. "We understand that. But he does have to clean it up."

Car Source has three locations along Sheridan Road, all three playing a role in unrest that brought an international spotlight on the city. The main lot with the burned cars was destroyed on the first night of rioting after Blake was shot.

Two days later, on Aug. 25, when militia groups answered a social media call to come to the city, some militia members - including Kyle Rittenhouse - gathered at the Car Source garage on Sheridan directly across the street from the burned lot. The Antioch teenager then shot two more people as he fled north on Sheridan Road.

Rittenhouse's attorney has said that the owner of the garage asked the armed men Rittenhouse was with to protect his business. Khindri and his business partner have said in interviews that they did not ask militia members to protect their properties.

Rittenhouse shot and killed Joseph Rosenbaum at a third, much smaller lot that Car Source operates on the northwest corner of Sheridan Road and 63rd Street. In recent weeks, the company has moved more of the burned or damaged cars into the 63rd Street lot.

Khindri is frustrated more help has not been forthcoming.

An online fundraiser for the business has raised about $50,600. The state has provided $4 million for no-interest loans of up to $50,000 for cleanup and repairs. And Downtown Kenosha Inc. plans to use money it raised for grants for affected businesses.

"Why aren't they helping me instead of fining me?" Khindri asked. "It's crazy.""

these guys also lied and said they didnt ask for help defending their lot. they exchanged calls and txt msgs and showed kyle's group how to get inside the building and showed them where there was a ladder to get on the roof.

I think it was in Mesopotamy that, if your suffered theft mayor property destruction, the judge, magistrate or order office de jour was expected to cover for your damages, because any damage you got was a result of his inability to protect you.

The idea was, of course, that he would cover your damages and then get the criminal who did the deed and extract a compensation out of his bloodied hide.

This seems to be largely used a straw man. Most of the people who are college educated, understand high school/college level biology, etc. can and did read and understand the basics of how Covid behaves, how the vaccination works,
    etc.

99.9% of sources against the general strategy of the WHO and other national health organizations in countries around the world are often presenting incomplete information, misleading information, or false information [often citing studies that don't actual exist].

All media has an agenda, sure. WHO is concerned with people having reasonable confidence in the strategy, as their epidemiologists, viralogists, etc. have confidence in multi-tiered defense strategies. The anit-vax media is
primarily interested in making profit (c.f. Infowars and Joe Rogan), identitarian politics [conservative media in the US, democratic
socialist-party supporting media in Sweden, for example], or a combination of both on behalf of the billionaires [tamping down broad lockdowns by making it
a political issue keeps businesses open, who cares of people die].

Scientists who actually know this shit are pretty much unanimous: masking indoors and in risky environments cut down on significant spread, using hand sanitizer and hand washing cut down on significant spread, limiting public engagement cuts down on significant spread, and vaccinations have
demonstrable and highly significant affect on both severity and chance of death. Much of the anti-vax or anti-masking rhetoric misrepresents what they are for:

    - Masking: cuts down on transmission from asymptomatic carrier to others significantly; prevents incidence of infection slightly. Covid is not
airborne in the standard meaning, but is waterborne through
sneezing/coughing. Critics say, "Masking does not prevent infection," which
is technically correct, but only technically. It has a high chance of preventing droplets from getting into the air from coughing/sneezing, but if you are wearing a mask and being coughed on, you can be infected via your
eyes or secondarily once your mask is off. They don't recommend for small children not because small kids are more likely to fiddle with the mask or touch their eyes. That being said, studies have shown that it can lower the viral load of the wearer [i.e. less "soldiers" get over the wall equals more time for the immune system to respond prior to full viral production, which
for people which normal immune systems means a less severe infection].
    - Hand washing/sanitizer: it kills 99.9% on surface if used properly. Let change of infection by touching mouth [or food], eyes, etc.
    - Limiting public engagement: less you are around and close to people, the
less chance of being infected/infecting others. This is why lockdowns even happen. This was discovered back during the Plagues of Justinian nearly 2000 years ago and was proven right in recent centuries once bacteria and viruses were discovered. Even without lockdowns, not making unnecessary trips to
public places, lower the chances. Pretty common sense. Most of the public discourse against this [often under the banner of freedom or rights] is actually about economics or comfort. Most people don't want to miss or hinder their ability to work and make money. Most people enjoy their regular forms
of entertainment in public (restaurants, movie theaters, shopping, etc.) and would rather not have any restriction on these activities. No anti-vaxer actually makes the argument that this is not effective.
    - Vaccinations: From basic science [and of course by means of metaphor] vaccines are either dead or inert diseases, closely related diseases that do not cause visible infection, or are protein chain fragments that "provide the blueprints" for the white blood cells to attack pathogens. In this way, all vaccines work on your own immune system in making them ready for attack, in
the same way as someone who suffered from a prior infection is able to handle it. It merely skips or (by orders of magnitude) lessens the outward symptoms
of immune response. This isn't new technology. This has been studied since
the 1700s and put into use globally for centuries. That being said, different diseases behave differently on the human host and in each strain respond differently to immunity. Some things are once and done [chicken pox or polio] for most people. You either get it or the vaccine and your immune system
learns it for life [as long as you have a functioning immune system]. Some
have stable pathogens, but the immunity fades over time [tetanus, for
example, which requires boosters]. Some are more effective based on the profiled strain, since the pathogen is mutable, so the vaccine has higher statistic effects against certain variants and less with others [like the
flu shot, where they have to guess which strain will be prevalent and hope
for the best... but even if they pick "wrong", usually has a statistically significant effect on severity/duration]. Currently available Covid vaccines are mostly of the mRNA sort and the pathogen does have strains and variants. Currently, most of the two part (i.e. not Astra) have highly significant
effect on preventing symptomatic infection [i.e. your white blood cells kill them before you notice you are infected... so effectively you "don't get
sick", even though you do have an immune response if you had a blood test]
and actually have a good versatility toward efficacy against multiple
strains. The anti-vaxers often trump up fear of the vaccine in itself or misconstrue the facts to fit their narrative. In regards to the former, mRNA
is not injecting and recoding your body, rather it is [by metaphor] handing your white blood cells blueprints of the pathogen. Your white blood cells [as it does with any novel infection] reconfigures itself to be prepared for
those patterns. The chemicals in the shot are no different than in most pharmaceuticals (anti-vaxers get very cagey about preservatives that are in most everything), any heavy metals present are basically equivalent to eating something like a quarter of a tuna fish sandwich, and (of course) there are
no microchips or nanobots in it [the corporations are tracking you by your phone's GPS and social media, so they don't need to here]. It is one thing to be cagey when it first comes out, but since the manufacture is based on existing vaccine types [that have been around for years] and now has plenty
of data re: severity, chance of infection, and change of injury of hospitalization (or death) from Covid, it does a lot. It *doesn't* make you immune to spreading, rather it shortens the window for how long you can be a carrier, hence the articles about it not preventing transmission within families for example [which is important to note, since if your spouse is
being treated for cancer or you live with your 90 year old me-maw with compromised immunity, you really need to stay the fuck away, even if you had the shot]. Likewise, anti-vaxers say, "It doesn't *actually* stop your body having an infection" and that is true, but is from both angles, largely semantic. 1) There are breakthrough infections [i.e. your immune system
cannot ramp up before significant replication takes place and you show symptoms], which can depend on the person's health, the viral load of the infection, etc., 2) asymptomatic immune response is a thing [i.e. you get infected and your white blood cells ramp up quickly and destroy it before
they can significantly replicate]. In the case of the former, yes, if your infection outpaces your immune response [even if your white blood cells know how to fight it], you can have a severe case or even die. Same with someone
who has had Covid and built a natural immunity. And for the former, that is
(as I said) semantic... what moron believes that any immunity is a force
field around a person? Even a natural immunity means your white blood cells identify and kill it. And sure, some people have allergic reactions to vaccines, but [pardon, off the top of my head from the CDC] something like 0.002% exhibited severe/life-threatening/fatal reactions. That is (to put
into perspective) about twice the likelihood of being struck by lightning in your lifetime (assuming 80 years). So yeah, extant but pretty rare.

From a public health perspective, the less serious cases being treated in a geographic area means less strains on the local hospitals, etc. which means survival goes up. This isn't the bubonic plague in terms of lethality, but uncontrolled infection ties up needed ICU beds and staff [and puts staff at risk for infection]. As such, if you get into a car accident or have a heart attack during a raging pandemic, your survival is significant affected as
    well.

And it can be both lethal and cause permanent damage. If you don't know at least a few people personally who hasn't died, lost a family member, or have permanent lung or vascular damage from a severe infection, you a fucking
lucky (or know few people). The old metaphor is the M&M metaphor. You have a jar of M&Ms, but several are poisoned and will be lethal, others will make
you severely sick, causing you to loose significant work time, and some will
do that as well, but cause permanent scarring to your lungs and arteries, potentially affecting your quality of life or shortening it. How may M&M's
are you going to pull out of the bowl and eat?

The thing that can and should be debated is the drivers behind how public policy is instituted. Mostly in the opposite direction you think. As a
citizen of a country (and most significantly a member of a local community), you have responsibilities as well as rights. The same people who would arm themselves in an invasion or rally to sandbag a flooding river near their
homes don't see their responsibility in making sure the hospitals aren't flooded or immunocompromised people [elderly, infants, cancer patients,
people with other immune disorders] aren't put in harms way or have to be inordinately burdened to completely isolation. That being said, the problem
is less the medical professionals advising to lock down, but often
politicians barring it or forcing it too soon do to public [or corporate] pressure. *THAT* is the big problem with the lockdowns... we are have politicians drive safety rather than panels of experts who are actively monitoring the situation.

Philosophically, should any external power impose lockdowns or vaccinations, no, but pragmatically, they have to, since many people will operate in what they perceive as their best interest rather than the rational decision that protects their own communities. Basically everyone *should* be smart enough
to understand the factors at play and the medical science behind it, but that is frankly too much for a lot of people. We should all be (unless we have histories of severe reactions to vaccines) wanting to get the shot on our own because the benefits to yourself and the community vastly outweigh potential risk or limitations. We should all want to mask when there are active
outbreaks in the communities and as communities be informed when it is safe
to go without. I live on a small island community and we have done fucking great. There have been outbreaks (especially last Christmas), but everyone
got serious and most people who could are vaccinated [something like 80%] and most of this year, the mask regulations have been off or optional and no significant lockdowns.

I think what is getting mostly in the way is that people see this as Red party/Blue party shit. It isn't. It never was. Media is trying to fuck with
you all for profit and political performance. I really wish that people identified more as members of their community [or fuck, identify as
Americans] than with political affiliations. That is what is destroying the country, more than BLM or the Proud Boys or trans people or immigrants.

Biden is the furthest thing from a Leftie. He's a pro-capital, center-right neoliberal tool of billionaires. As are 90% of the people in the Senate, on both sides, really.

There is not a two party system in the US, there is a one party system. Both are paid by the same corporations and hedge funds. The ones that claim to be Right pay lip service to fiscal responsibility and small government while
doing the opposite in legislation, and the ones that claim to be Left pay lip service to civil rights and the plight of marginalized and disenfrachised people while doing the opposite in legislation.

Meanwhile, the rich are getting richer and getting more power over
politicians. Media is programmed to be echo chambers where your team is good and the other team bad and vote X no matter what, even though all candidates and filthy.

The entire political machine in the US is now entirely based on lobbying and election funding [and network news reinforcing skewed narratives for their target audience to keep them locked into controlled narratives]. In any other constitutional democracy in the world, what is labeled "lobbying" and
"campaign contributions" is called was it actually is: bribery and is
    illegal.

In terms of political beliefs, someone like George W. Bush is actually to the *left* of Biden. Trump was a Democrat until relatively recently. It's all all the same. Rich people playing at our expense.

Even the fucking party narratives are skewed. The GOP used to be moral progressive party until the Southern Strategy and the civil rights movement. The Democrats have not been populist/labor since before FDR (but at least he put forth that platform to recover from the Great Depression). It's all kinds of fucked and neither party actually represents any political will of the majority of people. Lots of other countries avoided this by making outright fraud and bribery illegal, but also in having coalition based governance,
which allows for lots of parties and actually makes it easier to build blocs
of political power (and keep shitheads in check) with more and modest-sized parties.

Also, have you even met a "Leftie". Like a real one. Not some dipshit kid
with a man-bun, but a union syndicalist. Like an actual political anarchist
and not a kid who hates his parents.

    You would probably be surprised.

Philosophically, should any external power impose lockdowns or vaccinations, no, but pragmatically, they have to, since many people will operate in what they perceive as their best interest rather than the rational decision that protects their own communities. Basically everyone *should* be smart enough to understand the factors at play and the medical science behind it, but tha is frankly too much for a lot of people. We should all be (unless we have histories of severe reactions to vaccines) wanting to get the shot on our ow because the benefits to yourself and the community vastly outweigh potential risk or limitations. We should all want to mask when there are active outbreaks in the communities and as communities be informed when it is safe to go without. I live on a small island community and we have done fucking great. There have been outbreaks (especially last Christmas), but everyone got serious and most people who could are vaccinated [something like 80%] an most of this year, the mask regulations have been off or optional and no significant lockdowns.

I think it is unfair to paint vaccine-hesitant outlets as selfish, self interested assholes, as if the other side was not making profits in spades.

The problem with mandates regarding specifically brands of products is that they become a corrupting machine. A vaccine mandate means:

    * Somebody has to make a list of vaccines that will satisfy the mandate (and will take bribes to get some lab's vaccine listed)
    * Somebody has to create a mechanism for tracking the population, such as a database. Personal information sells at about 14 bucks in the black market, so this means you need to create a repository worth a lot of money and give the keys to somebody.
    * As a result of the above, decisions about how to handle vaccine aproval and tracking management stop being based in technical reasons. Which I suspect is why some medication is withdrawn from the market for side effects that have been known for years and authorities were fine with... did the lab stop paying the bribe to the Healthcare and Workplace Minister?

Distributors will do anything short of murder to secure a contract for selling napkins to a medium sized hospital. Napkins. I don't think I have imagination enough to guess what high-end med labs are doing.

For the record, my boss recently declined the National Medicine Award and his position is that there is no good reason to enforce vaccination mandates.

majority of people. Lots of other countries avoided this by making outright fraud and bribery illegal, but also in having coalition based governance, which allows for lots of parties and actually makes it easier to build blocs of political power (and keep shitheads in check) with more and modest-sized parties.

Bribery is pretty much still going on in countries where direct campaign contributions are not allowed. They usually just put the revenue generating machine out of the party itself: they create fundations, unions and non-profits, which are the ones taking the money. Officially they are not related to the party, but everybody knows they are doing the party's dirty work.

Maybe you could put people in jail if you proved it... but proving it is non trivial. Besides, the people who could rpove it are the ones benefitting from the machine.

True enough, but my point is that bribery *is* politics in the US. Our system is not about listening to the mandate of your constituency once you are on
the state or national level, it's about qui bono at the end of the day. Some politicians take pragmatic approaches and say shit like "well, if I don't get elected this way, I can't do *any* good" but that is highly hypocritical, as nobody in Washington is trying to change jack shit about elections, really.

I think we need districting reform, term limits, and vast campaign funding reform, or else we will be in the most shithole version of a William Gibson novel in less that 5 years.

All Berkeley elementary schools were integrated through an innovative two-way busing plan, which was implemented voluntarily by our district beginning in 1968. Kamala Harris joined first grade in 1970, which means she joined a cohort that had entered kindergarten in the second year of the busing program, in 1969." ( here ) "

""The extent of Biden's trucking experience is that he **rode in** a truck once, for one night in 1973," Parkinson wrote.

The White House was only able to show that President Biden was once a passenger in a big rig.

I think a big problem of formal education is that what they teach you is already obsolete when you eventually come out of college. A lot of Computer Science students aren't taught the tools whose knowledge is in high demand in the market, for example.

This ends up meaning that you come out of college with a Compliance Diploma that says you were able to endure college, but with no professional skills whatsoever (unless you learnt those on your own). You end up having to study a whole new set of skills on your own as soon as you get out of College. At that point I think it is fair for students to feel scammed.

Not a surprise. 16 years in the Indoctrination Camps will tend to make someone be afraid of something new (they would have to be told that's it's OK).

Most colleges don't teach softskills explicitly. But the good ones usually made you figure them out on your own - or do poorly in your classes.

But the Indoctrination Camps handed out grades based on things other than actually doing a good job. So most students wouldn't pick up on soft skills.

Perhaps you should stop blabbering hateful ignorance until you can come up with a
    solid single referenceable fact.

The problem with demanding people to post sources once and again and again is that
oftentimes those sources have already been posted. It gets tiresome after a while.

It is like Linux and BSD mailing lists. If somebody comes up and asks for help with a
problem, somebody will help him. If another person comes up a week later with the same
problem, somebody will help him. When the third one pops up with yet again the same
problem, the guys who have been helping people all this time long will be fed up
already and just say "Look, buddy, the solution to that is everywhere in the mailing
list archives, so why don't you give Duckduckgo a try before bothering us again?"

This is specially troublesome because I personally don't save the links to the sources, and sometimes the sources are not easily accesibl on the Internet, so by
demanding me (for example) to provide a source for a given statement, you are forcing
me to search for it once again. This is something I may be willing to do once or
twice, but it gets borying quite fast. This is the reason why the standard response in
a nerd's mailing list is "Look it up, the info is already there."

I mean, if somebody is not going to bother "Brittish Medical Journal Pfizer Vaccine
batch" in a DuckDuckGo search bar, the probability of him bothering to read the whole
    thing is close to zero.

Degrees nowadays are compliance badges rather than a knowledge or training certificate.

My experience in Engineering was that you were trained to memorize methods to solve
classic problems. The exams consisted in figuring out which sort of classic problem
each given exercise was, and apply the corresponding method to it.

Some really old school teachers broke the mold, but they were the exception rather
than the rule, and they were usually quite inpopular. The teacher that gave you the
description of some industrial installation, a list of problems it suffered, and told
you to describe how you'd solve those issues... OMG, THIS GUY WANTED US TO THINK!!!!
    GRAB THE PITCHFORKS!!!

I don't think that it would have been possible to run my Engineering classes other
way, in any case, since people came very underprepared from highschool. We had people
in 2nd level of Engineering who didn't know their highschool English or Maths, to
    embarassing degrees.

Look at Ilhan Omar she is an out-and-out unapologetic racist. Tr>>> Got a source for an example of that?
Yes go look up the videos on youtube there are plenty.

The problem with demanding people to post sources once and again and again is that oftentimes those sources have already been posted. It gets tiresome after a while.

It is like Linux and BSD mailing lists. If somebody comes up and asks for help with a problem, somebody will help him. If another person comes up a week later with the same problem, somebody will help him. When the third one pops up with yet again the same problem, the guys who have been helping people all this time long will be fed up already and just say "Look, buddy, the solution to that is everywhere in the mailing list archives, so why don't you give Duckduckgo a try before bothering us again?"

Or it's like asking Digitalman to look something up for you that's in the wiki page, it's easy for us all to go look it up ourselves.
If the answer is there go find it!

You haven't provided a single source for your comment. Saying "go

In this case, I have seen where some of the source feelings come from (like a WSJ opinion piece... *sigh*). The thing is, if you run around making claims that someone is a racist, you should be able to point out why, lest everyone else think you're a lunatic.

Sadly more true than not today.

My experience in Engineering was that you were trained to memorize
methods to solve classic problems. The exams consisted in figuring out which sort of classic problem each given exercise was, and apply the corresponding method to it.

That's not too bad. Over time, just applying the methods they'll learn about how they work.

I don't think that it would have been possible to run my Engineering classes other way, in any case, since people came very underprepared
from highschool. We had people in 2nd level of Engineering who didn't
know their highschool English or Maths, to embarassing degrees.

I've seen that too. I used to be shocked by how the high schools did that ON PURPOSE.

ex: When I was moving from 6th to 7th grade, because I was better at math than most, I had the option to go to 7A math (basically 8th grade math). That allowed me to take Algebra in the 8th grade. Fast forward, I was able to take Advanced Placement Calculus in my Sr. year. 2 years later, they did away with all this and continued to eliminate high level math/science classes years after.

It's like the purposely wanted to produce dumb people. Today I know that's because they goal was to produce people who vote for people like Biden.

When you post crap I have looked up your sources before and it's alway

I can vouch for this. There used to be someone I would debate with in FIDO Politics. He'd make some odd claim about what I had posted, so then I would reply with multiple links (including links from CNN, MSNBC, and, if the debate warranted, government sources like the CDC etc.) and he would shut up.

They don't teach anything like that in most colleges today.

So... That means you don't have a degree then.

I have several. Also, I didn't make the argument that a degree was a perquisite. Rather, that people who focused on self betterment rather than beer, degree or not, would cultivate the basic intellectual capacity and

I think it is unfair to paint vaccine-hesitant outlets as selfish, self interested assholes, as if the other side was not making profits in spades.

Granted, I think it is completely fucked that people are making far too much money for this shit. I mean, sure people are entitled to paychecks, don't get me wrong, but shareholders for big pharma are milking this shit, without a doubt.

I think what is lacking in your argument is the origin fallacy. That because people are being shitty and exploitative, it makes the vaccines themselves somehow suspect in efficacy. That is a big logical jump.

Honestly, researchers should be Jonas Salk-ing this shit, and manufacturing
the vaccines should only have a capped markup beyond material and business costs. But Biden and his crew aren't going to regulate that. Neither would
the Republicans. They all get paid by big pharma...

This is the problem with free market capitalism and unrestricted lobbying in the US. The pharma companies can charge whatever the fuck they want [unlike Canada or most European countries, for example] and politicians happily sign whatever into law, because they never care about who pays for shit, so long
as they keep their war chests full.

Likewise, knowing some biochemists personally (including one is pharma) the researchers aren't in any way "corrupted" or putting out bunk solutions, just because their employer is shady as fuck. They are doing their best to make medicines and vaccines and such and have no control over price gouging, bribing... I mean "lobbying" politicians, etc.

But it is a logical jump. Similar example: Whole Foods charges orders of magnitude more than what they can source organic produce for. Even
conventional stores (with more limited offerings) are able to offer the same organic produce for a more competitive price. In many cases, Whole
Foods will corner entire farms and distributors as to starve
competitors of similar selection. However, some people are going to shop at Whole Foods no matter what. This does not mean that organic food itself is nefarious because the company does shady as fuck things.

Or even closer to home this time of year: "hot" products (often toys) are frequently gobbled up by scalpers this time of year and sold on eBay or Craigslist for massive markups. This does not "infect" the toys with being
    bad.

I will admit, I have a vested interest. I have a daughter with a heart condition that would potentially be lethal or life changing if she had a bad case of Covid. I also have a wife 28 weeks pregnant with twins. She's vaccinated, but there can be breakthrough cases and I have read far too much about pregnant ladies dying horribly, because they are less able to fight it.
I am not unique. There are a lot of people who have a lot to lose. That is
not even talking about the economics... the longer this shit is rampant, the more people's livelihoods are effected.

I have not made the argument that, since the vaccination campaign is a money making
machine, the vaccines are therefore bad.

I have just argued that you were painting the WHO and pharmas and groups interested in
rolling the jabs as fast as possible nearly as selfless sants, in comparisson to the
satanic anti-vaxxers who only want money and are not concerned for public health at
    all.

At least two doctors I know are not convinced the jabs are as safe for pregnant women
as they are making it out to seem in the eyes of the public. One of them declined the
National Medicine Award precisely because he does not want to show up in newspapers
and in media. Should I phone him and tell him his opinion is only driven by a desire
for profit? I think he'd beat me senseless with an ecographic probe.

you will see a very different story

That's why many of the "journalists" who piled on to Rittenhouse are starting to issue retractions. They are close to getting sued.

but unfortunatly the media is popular and no one actually watches the court case needless to say the court case is completely different from
    the mainstream media

    Unfortunately, true.

I know this is a resurrection, but I have to agree. I am disabled and a lock-in.

I had time to watch some of the trial. What I saw and what was reported was two completely separate things.

IMHO, the prosecuter was more lame than I am, and I'm in a wheelchair most of my life.

They had NO case from day one. I was partly expecting the defense to rest
after they stood up and thanked the prosecuter for making their case.

My wife, who had limited access to watch, told me the media was not being
fair to the trial, in the beginning. I told her that was impossible. She
proved me wrong. I summarized what I watch. We found a report and was
    astounded at the difference.

I'm not a rittenhouse supporter, but it was self defense. Was he stupid for being

for me there is only one point. He grabbed weapons and went into danger. They didn't come to him, he came to them. With the intent to possibly
shoot someone. No matter what other facts are raised, he's guilty in my mind. At least to an extent. If they had shown up at his residence, then
I could at least consider self defense. When you arm yourself and go
into public, you are preparing to kill someone. That's not defense,
that's offense. I'm sorry, i will never see it any other way.

IMHO this is stupid. Not criminal. Full disclosure, I sometimes opencarry on
my wheelchair. Is this stupid? I've been told so. But, in La, I have the
right to do this. This isn't a crime.

If I were to take this weapon into an area of danger, the law protects me.

Is it smart? no. Is it criminal? no.

I think Rittenhouse thought being a teenage vigilanty was the way to go.

My concern is more with the rise of vigilantism in this nation and not
    needing more gun control.

Rittenhouse had a right to be there. But, he was stupid to be there.

Under current law, stupidity is not criminal.

1.He wanted to make a difference in his community.
2.He was there to help clean the graffiti the roiters were doing.

All you do is call names and throw huge shit fits when you're challenged.

Denn, you seem to have a massive lack of self-awareness. You just proved his and my previous points about your circle-jerks. You don't seem to understand tha when people challenge you, you go off in 20 different directions spending all your time and effort deflecting, rejecting and circle-jerking.

How do you do exactly what you claim others are doing, and then get angry and self-righteous at someone for reacting to the poor behaviour?

Why do you think people show up here for a bit and then disappear? This. Exactly this. The toxic little group of completely non-self-aware angries.

3.the Police had limited resources and actually appreciated citizen's stepping up to help protect businesses.
Many of the roiters were from out of state they weren't there to peacefully protest.
Kyle although not a medic had training and was on video helping people that were injured.
4.He was helping protect a Business.
He had more rights to be there than the rioters had.
the Peaceful protesters were not causing problems.

I should not have used the term "stupid." That gives a connotation of a lowered intelligence level.

What I meant was that he was aware of the high probability of violence and
he decided to put himself in that situation.

As he was young, and untrained, I don't consider the decision wise, by no means.

Add training, give him a few team members, and you have a squad of people
that could really affect a change. The members would have protected one another.
