I did take the vaccine, but we should still have the right to question science. Science is about questioning.

If you're not qualified in the particular field of science, then what
ever questioning you do is at best worthless, at worst dangerous.

The problem today is too many people are asserting their uneducated
opinions as fact, people believe it because either it agrees with their
own feelings and beliefs, or it's said by someone they trust.

I don't think calling people who are questioning the covid vaccine
anti-vaxxers or dumb and proud of it is helpful though, because it's a different kind of vaccine, it's new, and there's a lot of misinformation
    out there.

Also there is a huge distrust of authority, especially when the guy you
voted against got in and you're already angry at that. So when it's
polititions promoting the vaccine, it's easy for many to distrust it and
look for data that fits their position.

I think it is unfair to imply it is a matter of distrusting the shots because they are being enforced for an administration you voted against. I know of a good bunch of people who voted for administrations that are deffinitively pro-vaccine and either distrust the vaccine or distrust the meassures proposed for enforcing the shots.

In fact I think the problem is how the shots are being enforced rather than the shots themselves. Not that I place much faith in these shots either.

told by your various governments. Also, how do you know you were lied to?
And that the information that is suggesting you were lied to is not a lie itself?

From what I understand the vaccine seems to work in that it will reduce
the effects of covid should you catch it and so reducing the pressure on hospital emergency rooms. I got the vaccine because I know that if I did
catch covid, I would most likely be very sick and hospitalized without it.

    Maybe I still will, I haven't caught covid yet so I can't say - but I
probably will after our state opens up later this year.

As for your education, I assume many of the people who promote vaccines
are similarly educated and just as likely to be parroting misinformation
as those who are against it.

I think what it comes down to is the us vs them, left vs right mentality
that has become so prevelant the last 20 years or so, makes people dig
their heels in and refuse to change their mind when new information comes
    to light.

It works this way: if society at large encourages employers from firing people who doesn't do X action, what society means is that people who doesn't do X does not have the right of making a living. This means, society is sending the message that people not complying does not deserve to live.

If it is done with government aproval it is outright enforcing. The fact they put it in a pink gift wrap with a ribbon and present it as something else does not change this.

It starts by saying that you are taking privileges away from people when you are actually taking their rights.

This is specially shocking because governments have been discouraging employers from asking employees questions regarding things that actually impact their ability to work, to the point of making it a felony. If government says that you can't ask me about my Hepatitis vaccination status but that they can use COVID-shot status as a criteria for deciding whether to hire me or not then government is just passively-agressively enforcing the shots.

Funny enough lots of places where they enforce have high vaccine acceptance rates, which puts into question what the heck's going on. Why do you set up an oppression machine for enforcing vaccination in a place with a 98% acceptance rate of the shot?

THIS is what I find scary. They are setting enforcement systems in place with the excuse of solving things that are non-problems and people is cheering. Once the enforcement system is accepted and everybody is used to it it will be trivial to keep adding to it. "Look, you didn't do X or Y so you don't have the right to work either, no go away and starve."

told by your various governments. Also, how do you know you were lied to?
And that the information that is suggesting you were lied to is not a lie itself?

    I got the shot.

That said, a lot of Americans can remember Joe Biden being asked during his campaign whether or not he would support vaccine mandates. His stated
position at the time was that he would not *and* he didn't think that such mandates were legal.

IIRC, this came up again shortly after he was elected and he said the same thing... no and likely not legal.

A few months go, he completely flip-flopped and said he not only supported
them but encouraged business to do enforce mandates.

He never said he thought they were legal. There is apparently some
precedent in the USA as far as enforcing vaccinations go. That precedent
is approx. 100 years old. However, there are also laws on the books, since at least the 1990's, that make it illegal to ask most medical questions of employees.

As someone else pointed out, I am not sure how it is legal to ask whether
or not you have a COVID vaccine when there are so many other health things (including other vax statuses) that they are not allowed to ask.

In my government-run office, they won't even TELL us whether or not we might have been exposed to COVID because they are afraid of breaking the law.
All they will tell us is that "you don't have to come into the building tomorrow if you don't want to," and, if you were working in the office on
the day someone else was there that tested positive and voluntarily
divulged this to management, they might also include "...and you might want
    to get tested."

So I can see where people are wondering how they can ask about COVID shots
but cannot ask us much of anything else about our health. And, if they
cannot legally ask, they cannot legally enforce a mandate.

As an aside, our employer found a slick way to find out if we were vaxed or not. Employees who had proof of vaccination could send in a copy and get
extra vacation leave days. That was voluntary, so it didn't break the law,
but you had to do it to get your reward.

Personally, I believe that people should do their own research, with the
bulk of the weight of said research being to ask their family doctor. I suspect that most people who think it is bad for them have not had that discussion, have had that discussion but discounted what was said, or they actually have a medical condition that would cause their doctor to be
cautious about them receiving the shot.

They were giving us up to 2 weeks off (but only once!) from when the
pandemic first broke out until shortly after Trump was no longer in office.
Now we have to use our existing leave if we catch the COVID.

IMHO, people took advantage of the 2 weeks at first, too. Lot's of people
felt bad and took it immediately. Some of them really were sick, some I am
not sure about. If they got it for real later, they had to take their own
    time off.

I guess they are the smart ones, though... that was 2 free weeks we won't get now even if we get COVID. Also, I cannot begrudge them if they took
advantage as most of them are in positions where they cannot work from
home, so they were stuck in the building while many of us could WFH and
stay away from people if we wanted. They might as well get something out of being required to stay.

Because we are a government office, and they are not taking any steps to
punish people for not getting the shot, I suspect that this whole idea of a "mandate" is not legal. Otherwise, I think they'd be doing it.

I have found that it is the "conspiracy theorists" who have been able to tell me most accurately what is going to happen as a result of this pandemic.

This is the problem, when the government who is following "the science" can't get it right, but the "conspiracy theorists" seem to be able to tell you what will happen with more confidence, and more accuracy, then why wouldn't you conclude they might be right about other matters too, like the vaccine.

The government in Australia, in particular the Victorian state government have been wrong time and time again. Wrong about flattening the curve, wrong about target zero, wrong about vaccine mandates, wrong about vaccine apartheid, wrong about boosters, just to name a few.

Also there is a huge distrust of authority, especially when the guy
    you
voted against got in and you're already angry at that. So when it's polititions promoting the vaccine, it's easy for many to distrust it
    and
look for data that fits their position.
Before the 2020 American election, the other party was a bit pissy about
the RNA vaccines as well. It flipped. I did take them, but I am refusing
to get any boosters. I will take the religious exemption that the vaccine makers lied about the fetal cells during development and I sincerly would consider the Tobacco/Plant based vaccine when they become mainstream in
    the future.

I guess they are the smart ones, though... that was 2 free weeks we won't get now even if we get COVID. Also, I cannot begrudge them if they took advantage as most of them are in positions where they cannot work from home, so they were stuck in the building while many of us could WFH and stay away from people if we wanted. They might as well get something out of being required to stay.

Because we are a government office, and they are not taking any steps to punish people for not getting the shot, I suspect that this whole idea of a "mandate" is not legal. Otherwise, I think they'd be doing it.

No from what I've read you never lose your covid antibodies after having covid.
If 100% of people were vaccinated they could still get and spread covid.
I am going to get the booster as my company announced today that Medical insurance for the unvaccinated would cost an extra $50 a month, and to keep from being charged the extra $50 we need the booster, I wasn't going to get the booster until they said that.

So there you have citizenship without being born in the USA.

You don't think Trump might have been a little biased & agenda-focused in his attacks on Obama?

Or do you believe EVERY person working in that department from the date of his birth til 2006 AND every newspaper reporter & editor in America AND every television news director/producer AND everyone else remotely connected to the secret were successfully, with no weak links, conspiring to lie about it?

Wghere were those, in on the conspiracy, sneaking off to sell their blabbing to Trump for big money?

Where were those members who just want 15 minutes of fame?

I find it hard to believe hundreds of people, a certain percentage who believe lying will net them eternity in hellfire, could maintain such a lie for so long, against insurmountable temptations.

I have mentioned elsewhere that it used to be the case, at least in Spain, that if a vaccine proved itself less effective than advertised it would mean trouble for the lab.

By this I mean if you vaccinated a dog and the dog died of whatever he had been vaccinated against, there would be a fuss and the lab may end up paying for the messup.

I know alot of people that "thought" they had it, but in this case my friend works with me and is in a work testing program. It's probable with was different strains though.

He was probably reading "studies" by Leftie "experts" (i.e. Propaganda produced by leftie shills).

The studies that I've seen have natural immunity at 3 times better than the COVID shots. Especially now that we know that the not-vax is pretty much useless after 7 months (hence the need for "boosters").

But regardless of the number, natural immunity is always better than a vaccine and we've known this for decades now. So the push to get everyone the shot has no scienfitic basis.

But seeing that's the case, we have to ask: Why push to have everyone get the shot?

And that's a question that the Leftie Elite can't (or don't want to) answer.

You don't think Trump might have been a little biased & agenda-focused in his attacks on Obama?

In the USA, we had an issue in the 1970s with the Ford Pinto.
Because of design flaws in the gas tank filler, the filler could
separate and the car explode in a rear-end collision.

Ford could recall all of the cars, bringing down media scrutiny and

boy you really have no original thoughts, do you? i have heard
liberals repeat this shit for decades.

Hey the brite side of the ford Pinto issues was I once bought a decent
    Pinto for $50

there's a guy explaining this to a young michael moore. he said the people pretty much knew they were buying a cheap fucking car. they shouldn't have expected a high safety rating for a car of that design.

i knew people that collected pintos and their car never exploded.

They were good running cars, great on gas to.

    ... Southern DOS: Y'all reckon? (Yep/Nope)

OK so let's just forget about all the BLM and ANTIFA riots the killed
many, Injured many many more, burnt buildings, destroyed Businesses.
Funny how you jackasses never mention that but you're fixated on one
    day in Jan.

Over in the fido politics forum, the difference is usually explained by "the summer riots didn't target the capital or federal buildings." When you point out that the rioters in the Pacific NW often targeted a federal building, it is again defended by "but they didn't manage to get in."

6 Times they asked for enhanced security, 6 times they were denied.

So it is more OK if you want to storm a federal building but don't actually make it in I guess.

It's that double elitist standard of the left.

... Computers are not intelligent. They only think they are.

i dont give a shit what the situation was. he was president and he no longer is president. all i'm saying is i saw a person on tv manipulate the document that anybody could download. if it was a true scan you couldnt manipulate it.

Of course you could. I'm no graphics desiugner -- no training of any kind; only use tools I googled up & I can manipulate any document you give me! I can even redate it to the original creation date!

you didn't read what i said.

in the document first released, you could lift up the elements and move them around and see behind them because they werent rasterized

You were seeing a COPY of the original. I have no idea what scanning the original in did to the elements recognized by the scanner software, but it's not unreasonable to consider this.

dude those are one and the same.

A baby can be born overseas to two parents who are both natural birth Americans & it is a natural born American, too. . .

So there you have citizenship without being born in the USA.

The relevant department in Hawaii has produced Obama's Hawaiian birth cert9ficate, proving hwe was born there on the date his parents claim.

You don't think Trump might have been a little biased & agenda-focused in his attacks on Obama?

I could take a true scan & make a copy with manipulation-possible elemenmts, then go on tv & discredit an actual true copy. You know we're in the 22nd century, right?

You've still not made referehnce to any fact that discredits the vaccines.

i dont care if obama was a citizen. he should have a birth cert. i think what the issue was is his mother was a flake who traveled all over and didn't get him a birth cert in the timeframe.

They did find one from Hawaii who knows if it was real or not?
Hillary would've done almost anything to be the 1st Woman President.
