    I haven't read the article, but I'm not sure what you mean by an old version of an OS no longer having the supported libraries.. An old version of an OS doesn't change, so it couldn't just no longer have a library. Do you mean the new software has changed and now requires a different library, or a new version of the library that isn't available for the old OS?
