• AmigaNet Nodelist possible delay

From Wilfred van Velzen@39:150/200 to All on Wed Dec 25 23:16:11 2013
    Hi,

Just a heads up, so you don't get worried! ;)

The AmigaNet Nodelist "update" this week, might be delayed or skipped. I'm in the process of replacing my file processor, from AllFix on my virtual WinXP machine to husky/htick on the linux host.

Since there aren't any changes (for a couple of months now), I don't expect this to be a problem. ;)

    Bye, Wilfred.

so allfix loose becurse of no security fix in winxp ?

    wow

it would be nice if amiganet nodelist could be added to binkp.net, so it is found on dns

No, not that. I just want to convert my fido system over to linux as much as possible. I had some free time because of the Christmas holidays, so I decided to do this little conversion...

    Ask the binkp.net maintainer... ;)

This afternoon I hatched out an AmigaNet nodelist by hand, because it had some changes in the last week. The automatic hatching is still to be created on my system...

Afterwards I noticed the filename wasn't all caps as it used to be. This might cause a problem if you run an OS that is sensitive to letter case (ie Linux)...

    Bye, Wilfred.

if you runned linux, it would not be a problem sending the correct filename CaSE :=)

    thanks for the update

This was caused by linux! So I could use any case I wanted. The DOS software I used before, would have just used upper case! ;)

    thanks for the update

Notice that Frank Linhares system has been put on hold. His system hasn't been functioning properly since mid december. He hasn't responded to my (email) requests to fix it. So next week he will be changed to 'Down'. I was able to contact his downlinks, and they told me they want to remain part of AmigaNet, so something will have to be arranged for them.

    Bye, Wilfred.

Hatched another update today. Nobody complaint about the mixed case file name, so I decided to keep it this way.

This week Franks nodes (except the host), has been put on down. Still no sign of life from him...

Dont expect a response to anything. Scinet is dead as a result, and his system is busted.

There was 1 email response mid Januari to his fidonet RC, where he said he was going to fix it. But nothing happend, and no sign of life from him since.

We know his system is busted, that is what the problem is! ;)

    See message to benny!

I also have a direct connection to his system, and have had to disconnect that and work around it.

I'm kind of coordinating my actions with his RC in fidonet Joe Delahaye. Who is of Dutch origin and active in our local areas, so I know him well...
